وتحسن مؤشر مديري المشتريات الرسمي قليلاً إلى 49.5 في مايو من 49 في أبريل، لكنه ظل دون مستوى الخمسين الفاصل بين النمو والانكماش. وتتماشى القراءة مع متوسط التوقعات البالغ 49.5.
واتهم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الصين، أمس، بانتهاك الاتفاق الثنائي بشأن الرسوم الجمركية. وكشف عن اعتزامه مضاعفة الرسوم الجمركية العالمية على الصلب والألمنيوم إلى 50%؛ ما أدى مرة أخرى إلى زعزعة التجارة الدولية.

وكان وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت، قال أمس: «إن الشركاء التجاريين بما فيهم اليابان يواصلون التفاوض مع الولايات المتحدة بحسن نية، ولم يطرأ أي تغير في مواقفهم منذ أن أصدرت محكمة تجارية أمريكية حكماً ضد الرسوم الجمركية التي فرضتها إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب أخيراً».
