الرئيس السوري يلتقي الأمير بدر بن فرحان في دمشق

The Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara' met today (Thursday) at the Conference Palace in the capital, Damascus, with the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Damascus International Book Fair 2026, in which the Kingdom is the guest of honor.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Culture conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to their brother, the Syrian President, along with their sincere wishes for his good health and happiness, and for the Syrian Arab Republic and its brotherly people to continue progressing and prospering. The Minister of Culture congratulated the President on the occasion of the establishment of the Damascus International Book Fair 2026.

The meeting included a reaffirmation of the deep relationship between the two brotherly countries and the importance of joint cultural cooperation.

Attending the meeting from the Saudi side were the advisor at the Royal Court, Mohammed bin Mazid Al-Tuwaijri, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Hamid bin Mohammed Fayez, the Assistant Minister of Culture, Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Tuq, the advisor at the Royal Court, Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Muhaysin, and the General Supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library, Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Ma'mar.

A number of Saudi intellectuals participating in the Damascus International Book Fair 2026 also attended the meeting.
