يستضيف مركز الملك فيصل للبحوث والدراسات الإسلامية، بالتعاون مع معهد المخطوطات العربية، الاحتفال الرسمي بيوم المخطوط العربي في دورته الثالثة عشرة تحت شعار «المخطوط العربي: حياة أُمّة ورائد حضارة»، في مقر مركز الملك فيصل للبحوث والدراسات الإسلامية بالرياض، برعاية وحضور رئيس مجلس إدارة مركز الملك فيصل للبحوث والدراسات الإسلامية الأمير تركي الفيصل، والمدير العام للمنظمة العربية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم (ألكسو) الدكتور محمد ولد أعمر، وبدعوة من الأمين العام للمركز الأميرة مها بنت محمد الفيصل.
وأَقَرَّت اللجنة العلمية ليوم المخطوط العربي، برئاسة مدير معهد المخطوطات العربية الدكتور علي عبدالله النعيم تكريمَ كلٍّ من: الدكتور يحيى محمود بن جنيد من (المملكة العربية السعودية) شخصية العام للبحث التراثي بالوطن العربي. المخبر الوطني لصيانة وترميم الرقوق والمخطوطات بالقيروان (تونس) مؤسسة العام للعمل التراثي بالوطن العربي. كتاب «جامع فرائد الملاحة في جوامع فوائد الفلاحة»، تحقيق الأستاذ الدكتور إحسان ذنون الثامري (العراق)، بوصفه كتاب العام التراثي بالوطن العربي. وقد اعتمد المعهد العربي يوم المخطوط العربي بوصفه فعالية سنوية منذ عام 2013م، وأَقَرَّه مؤتمر وزراء الثقافة العرب في دورته العشرين عام 2016م يوماً رسمياً للاحتفاء بالمخطوط العربي، ويُعَدُّ معهد المخطوطات العربية –التابع للمنظمة العربية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم (ألكسو)– الجهاز العربي المسؤول عن التراث المخطوط، وقد تأسس بقرار من جامعة الدول العربية في 4 أبريل 1946م كأول جهاز ثقافي تُنشِئه الجامعة. ويتخلل البرنامج أفلام تعريفية، إلى جانب مراسم توقيع اتفاقيات تعاون ومعارض متخصصة، تبرز مسيرة المخطوط العربي وأدوات حفظه ورحلته عبر الزمن. ويأتي هذا الاحتفال واحتضان المركز لهذه الفعالية؛ ليؤكد رسالته الراسخة في صون التراث المخطوط، وتعزيز حضوره كجزء أصيل من الهوية الثقافية للأمة. فمنذ تأسيسه عام 1983م، جعل مركز الملك فيصل العناية بالمخطوطات من أولوياته الكبرى؛ ليصبح أحد أبرز المراجع العالمية في هذا المجال، محتفظاً بما يزيد على 30 ألف مخطوط أصلي، وأكثر من 150 ألف مخطوط مصوَّر محفوظة بالتعاون مع كبريات المكتبات والمتاحف العالمية. وإلى جانب ذلك، امتدت إنجازاته في المعالجة والتعقيم والترميم لتشمل أكثر من 330 ألف كتاب ومخطوط ووثيقة، في إضافة نوعية تؤكد ريادته، وتبرز مكانته كمنصة علمية وثقافية متجددة تنقل هذا الإرث العظيم إلى الأجيال القادمة.
The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, in collaboration with the Arab Manuscripts Institute, is hosting the official celebration of Arab Manuscript Day in its thirteenth edition under the slogan "The Arab Manuscript: The Life of a Nation and a Pioneer of Civilization," at the headquarters of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Riyadh, under the patronage and attendance of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Prince Turki Al-Faisal, and the Director-General of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO), Dr. Mohammed Ould Amar, and at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the Center, Princess Maha bint Mohammed Al-Faisal.
The scientific committee for Arab Manuscript Day, chaired by the Director of the Arab Manuscripts Institute, Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Naim, has decided to honor: Dr. Yahya Mahmoud bin Junayd from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the Personality of the Year for Heritage Research in the Arab World; the National Laboratory for the Preservation and Restoration of Manuscripts in Kairouan (Tunisia) as the Institution of the Year for Heritage Work in the Arab World; and the book "The Comprehensive Collection of Navigation Benefits in the Essentials of Agriculture," edited by Professor Dr. Ihsan Dhunoon Al-Thamri (Iraq), as the Heritage Book of the Year in the Arab World. The Arab Institute has recognized Arab Manuscript Day as an annual event since 2013, and it was approved by the Conference of Arab Culture Ministers in its twentieth session in 2016 as an official day to celebrate the Arab manuscript. The Arab Manuscripts Institute – affiliated with the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO) – is the Arab body responsible for manuscript heritage, established by a decision from the Arab League on April 4, 1946, as the first cultural body created by the League. The program includes introductory films, along with ceremonies for signing cooperation agreements and specialized exhibitions, highlighting the journey of the Arab manuscript, its preservation tools, and its passage through time. This celebration and the Center's hosting of this event reaffirm its steadfast mission to preserve manuscript heritage and enhance its presence as an integral part of the cultural identity of the nation. Since its establishment in 1983, the King Faisal Center has prioritized the care of manuscripts, becoming one of the foremost global references in this field, preserving over 30,000 original manuscripts and more than 150,000 photographed manuscripts in collaboration with major libraries and museums worldwide. In addition, its achievements in processing, sterilization, and restoration have extended to include more than 330,000 books, manuscripts, and documents, representing a qualitative addition that confirms its leadership and highlights its status as a renewed scientific and cultural platform that transmits this great heritage to future generations.
