The literary text we receive, regardless of the creative and cultural level of its author and their imaginative capacity, remains a culmination of ancient sedimentation of various linguistic, artistic, and cultural elements and structures. It is the result of the writer's absorption of diverse expressive and linguistic forms and literary arts that accumulate in their consciousness through their personal reading choices. It is also a summary of this writer's interaction with reality, touching upon their concerns, experiencing their issues, and engaging with their events. Indeed, the secret of forming literary consciousness among writers and its clear manifestation between the lines of their texts lies precisely in their tendencies and reading choices, as well as in the nature of the environment in which they lived. The literary text, as an artistic stance, a creative position, and a human stance, is the essence of a cultural, intellectual, and mental construct shaped through a specific journey in the worlds of literature and thought, just as it is a summary of positions, perceptions, and visions dictated by the specific social, cultural, and historical reality. Therefore, the illusion of absolute freedom and complete independence from reality when producing literary texts—whether intentionally by the writer, through a conscious attempt, or not—is contrary to the general existential law based on relationships of influence and being influenced. The writer, as an individual, exercises their existential effectiveness in a temporal and spatial context governed by certain cultural, conceptual, and value-related frameworks, which implies that they are always in a positive reciprocal relationship with their general environment, interacting with it, either influencing it or being influenced by it. Without this, they cannot be a writer with the sensitivity of a writer and the ability to capture, digest, and rephrase.
The text presented to us, whether poetry or prose, no matter how steeped in fantasy and immersed in its strangeness, remains a necessary and natural result of the reality with which the writer interacts, taking shape in the literary product, with all its linguistic signs, cultural references, images, symbols, and allusions. This is evidenced by the conflict and competition between what is traditional and dominant on one hand and the new arrivals within the same literary experience on the other, which produces new forms and styles within the same creative experience. In this sense, it can be said that the writer has relative freedom in the ideas they present and the issues they discuss in an attempt to simulate reality and present it in new forms. However, they are never completely free or independent from the influences that lead them to make decisions about adopting a particular art form or style to direct their creative discourse, because even when they weigh one method against another or one literary art against another, they are merely navigating between pre-acquired styles, techniques, and linguistic choices, even if they stamp it with their unique mark that does not take it out of the repeated equation, as was said long ago:
What we see is nothing but a repeated saying
Or a repeated statement from our discourse
Thus, breaking the cultural reality's guardianship over texts and neutralizing its dominance over the writer's subconscious through the tightly interlinked network of their relationships is a task so difficult that it could potentially undermine your ability to write itself if you truly wanted to remove it and neutralize it from your creative sensibility. The reception from the outside is what produces a written text after it blends with the writer's subjectivity, their obsessions, imaginations, emotions, and reactions. In this sense, the text is a product of the writer's past in terms of reading and culture regarding language and style, as it is a reflection of their present concerning the issues raised.
Furthermore, the imaginary essentially derives its basic elements from reality or draws inspiration from reality in shaping itself. The poetic image, the narrative scene, the metaphor, the simile, and the rhetorical metaphor all return to reality to draw from it. Without reality, with its multiple imaginations and images, writing cannot reach an audience that shares the same language, conceptual frameworks, and intellectual commonalities with the writer.
