أكد الموسيقار صلاح الشرنوبي، أنه لم يفكر في الاعتزال نهائياً يوماً ما؛ لأن الفنان الحقيقي لا يعتزل، مشيراً إلى أنه يفضل عدم الظهور كثيراً في المناسبات الفنية لحكم السن.

وأوضح «الشرنوبي» في تصريح خاص لـ صحيفة «عكاظ»، أنه يُعرض عليه الكثير من الأعمال الفنية، ولكنه يرفضها؛ لأنها لا تضيف لمشواره الفني، معلقًا: "معتزلتش ومفيش حد بيحب الفن بيعتزل ولا ملحنين ولا مغنين وحتى لما بيكبروا في السن بيشتغلوا".
وأكد أنه يحضر لمشاريع فنية كثيرة بالفترة المقبلة أبرزها التعاون مع المطرب السوري رامي السلطان بجانب أغنية جديدة تم طرحها أخيراً مع المطربة المغربية سيليا الزناتي.
وكان صلاح الشرنوبي بالفترة الماضية قد فجع بوفاة نجله محمد بشكل مفاجئ، إذ أكد في تصريحات تلفزيونية أن نجله لم يكن يعاني من أي مرض وتوفي بشكل مفاجئ، طالباً من الجمهور الدعاء له بالمغفرة والرحمة.
يذكر أن صلاح الشرنوبي ولد بحي «الأنفوشي» بمدينة الإسكندرية، عام 1957، وأظهر منذ طفولته ولعاً بالموسيقى وآلاتها، خصوصاً آلة الأكورديون، ولم يدرس الموسيقى أكاديميًا، ولكنه ثقف نفسه بنفسه، وتعلم العزف على آلة الكمان، ثم تعلم العزف على العود، كما تعلم أيضًا كتابة النوتة الموسيقية، ومن ثم اقتحم عالم الفن والغناء ووصل بإصراره للتعاون مع كبار النجوم.

Al-Sharnoubi explained in a special statement to the newspaper "Okaz" that he is offered many artistic works, but he refuses them because they do not add to his artistic journey, commenting: "I haven't retired, and no one who loves art retires, neither composers nor singers, and even when they get older, they continue to work."
He confirmed that he is preparing for many artistic projects in the upcoming period, the most notable of which is a collaboration with the Syrian singer Rami Al-Sultan, alongside a new song that was recently released with the Moroccan singer Celia Al-Zanati.
Recently, Salah Al-Sharnoubi was devastated by the sudden death of his son Muhammad, as he confirmed in television statements that his son did not suffer from any illness and passed away unexpectedly, asking the audience to pray for him for forgiveness and mercy.
It is worth noting that Salah Al-Sharnoubi was born in the "Anfushi" neighborhood of Alexandria in 1957, and he showed a passion for music and its instruments since childhood, especially the accordion. He did not study music academically, but he educated himself, learned to play the violin, and then learned to play the oud. He also learned to write musical notation, and then he entered the world of art and singing, reaching through his determination to collaborate with major stars.
