توفي الفنان الكويتي محمد المنيع مساء أمس (الجمعة)، عن عمر ناهز الـ95 عاماً، بعد تدهور حالته الصحية بعد يومين من دخوله المستشفى.
ونعى وزير الإعلام والثقافة الكويتي عبدالرحمن المطيري، المنيع، قائلاً: «أتقدم بخالص التعازي والمواساة بوفاة المغفور له بإذن الله الفنان القدير محمد المنيع أحد رواد الفن الكويتي والخليجي الذي أثرى الساحة الفنية بعطائه على مدى عقود وكان مثالاً للفنان المخلص لجمهوره ورسالة فنه».
وعرف الفنان محمد المنيع بالوسط الفني بلقب عمدة «الفنانين الخليجيين» «بوعبدالعزيز»، إذ كان قد تفرغ خلال السنوات الأخيرة للظهور بمشاركات بسيطة تحمل القيم التربوية والاجتماعية كما هو الحال طوال مسيرته الفنية التي بدأها منتصف السبعينيات.
ومن أبرز الأعمال التي شارك فيها المنيع تلفزيونياً، مسلسلات «طيبة وبدر، الإبريق المكسور، الرحيل، بدر الزمان، فتى الاحلام، طش ورش، القرار الأخير، زمان الاسكافي». مسرحياً، كانت للفقيد المنيع مشاركات عديدة في أعمال مسرحية معروفة منها «حظها يكسر الصخر، بغيتها طرب صارت نشب، علي جناح التبريزي، وفرسان». أما في السينما، فكانت له أكثر من مشاركة في أفلام منها «بس يا بحر، أوراق الخريف، ليلة القبض على الوزير»، فيما اشتهر المنيع بأدوار الأب والجد بنصيحة من الفنان الراحل محمد النشمي.
The Kuwaiti artist Mohammed Al-Munai passed away last night (Friday) at the age of 95, after his health deteriorated two days after being admitted to the hospital.
The Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, mourned Al-Munai, saying: "I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy on the passing of the late artist Mohammed Al-Munai, may God have mercy on him, one of the pioneers of Kuwaiti and Gulf art who enriched the artistic scene with his contributions over decades and was an example of an artist dedicated to his audience and the message of his art."
Artist Mohammed Al-Munai was known in the artistic community by the title of "Mayor of Gulf Artists" or "Abu Abdulaziz," as he had dedicated himself in recent years to appearing in simple roles that carry educational and social values, just as he did throughout his artistic career, which began in the mid-1970s.
Among the most notable works in which Al-Munai participated on television are the series "Taybah and Badr, The Broken Jug, The Departure, Badr Al-Zaman, The Dream Boy, Tash wa Rash, The Final Decision, and The Time of the Cobbler." In theater, the late Al-Munai had numerous participations in well-known theatrical works, including "Her Luck Breaks the Rock, I Wanted It to Be Joyful but It Became a Mess, On the Wing of Al-Tabrizi, and The Knights." As for cinema, he had several participations in films such as "But Oh Sea, Autumn Leaves, and The Night of the Minister's Arrest," while Al-Munai was famous for his roles as a father and grandfather, following the advice of the late artist Mohammed Al-Nashmi.
