استضافت المملكة العربية السعودية في الأعوام الأخيرة تصوير عدد من أفلام هوليود عبر جذب واستقطاب الاستثمارات العالمية لتطوير صناعة السينما.
وجذبت مناطق المملكة القائمين على 5 أفلام لتصويرها في البيئة السعودية التي تعد موطناً للعديد من مواقع التراث العالمي لليونسكو، كما توفّر مناظر طبيعية شاسعة وجميلة.
فيلم قندهار
استضافت مدينتا العُلا وجدة تصوير فيلم «قندهار»، الذي يُعَد من أبرز الأعمال السينمائية التي تم تصويرها في السعودية؛ وضم فريق الإنتاج أكثر من 350 فرداً، 10% منهم من السعوديين.
ويظهر الفيلم أماكن سياحية مميزة في السعودية كالعلا وتبوك وحائل وجدة والطائف، وتدور أحداثه حول عميل سري بالاستخبارات الأمريكية يُدعى (توم هاريس) يسافر برفقة مترجمه إلى أفغانستان، لتنفيذ عملية سرية، ولكنهما سرعان ما يهربان من القوات الخاصة هناك بعد فضح العملية، وهنا تبدأ أحداث الفيلم في إطار بوليسي مشوّق.
فيلم قندهار تم إنتاجه بشكل مشترك بين الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والمملكة العربية السعودية في 2023، وهو من إخراج ريك رومان، وبطولة جيرارد بتلر.
فيلم تشيللو
«تشيللو» إنتاج عالمي، يضم طاقم عمل من فرنسا وإيطاليا وكندا والشرق الأوسط وبريطانيا وأمريكا، وحصل على دعم من شركة الإنتاج السعودية Rozam Media.
ويستند الفيلم إلى رواية وسيناريو رئيس الهيئة العامة للترفيه المستشار تركي آل الشيخ، وتدور أحداثه في إطار من الغموض والرعب؛ حيث يقوم عازف (تشيللو) بعزف مقطوعة موسيقية تقلب مسار حياته الهادئ رأساً على عقب، وتهدد حياته وحياة أسرته.
«تشيللو» تم إنتاجه عام 2023، وهو من بطولة: ميلا الزهراني، إلهام علي، جيرمي آيرونز، توبين بيل، سامر إسماعيل، سعاد العبدالله، وغسان مسعود. ومن إخراج دارن لين بوسمان.
فيلم محارب الصحراء
ويعد محارب الصحراء أكبر إنتاج في المملكة العربية السعودية جاء من هوليود على الإطلاق؛ حيث يقود روبرت وايت، مخرج الفيلم ومدير Rise of the Planet of Apes، طاقماً مكوّناً من أكثر من 500 شخص في هذه الملحمة التاريخية ذات الميزانية المرتفعة، التي تُعَد أول إنتاج أجنبي مهم في المملكة.
الفيلم مستوحى من أحداث يوم ذي قار، وهو من بطولة أنتوني ماكي، وعائشة هارت، وبن كينغسلي، وشارلتو كوبلي، وغسان مسعود، وسامي بوعجيلة، ولميس عمار، وجيزا روهريج.
تدور أحداث الفيلم في القرن السابع الميلادي، حين كانت شبه الجزيرة العربية تضم عدة قبائل بينها صراعات دائمة، وقد تم تصويره في نيوم.
فيلم تشيري
يُعَد فيلم تشيري من أبرز الأفلام السينمائية التي تم تصويرها في المملكة العربية السعودية؛ وتدور أحداثه حول أحد المحاربين القدامى في العراق، المصاب باضطراب نفسي ما بعد الصدمة، يتحوّل هذا المحارب إلى لص بنوك، حينما يقع في فخ الإدمان وتتزايد عليه الديون فتدفعه لعالم الجريمة.
تم تصوير الفيلم في منطقة العلا وهو من بطولة توم هولاند.
فيلم وجدة
يُعتبر «وجدة» أول فيلم روائي طويل يتم تصويره بالكامل في السعودية للمخرجة هيفاء المنصور، وحاز العديد من الجوائز في المهرجانات السينمائية الدولية، وإضافة إلى ذلك فهو أول فيلم سعودي يتم اختياره لجائزة الأوسكار، وتم ترشيحه لجائزة BAFTA لأفضل فيلم أجنبي.
تدور أحداثه حول فتاة تُدعى وجدة، تبلغ من العمر 10 سنوات، وتحلُم دائماً بامتلاك دراجة خضراء معروضة في أحد متاجر الألعاب. وعلى الرغم من معارضة والدتها إلا أنها تخطط لتوفير مبلغ من المال يكفي لشراء تلك الدراجة، وذلك عبْر بيع بعض الأغراض الخاصة بها. لكن خطتها تنكشف، وتجد نفسها أمام سبيل وحيد وهو المشاركة في مسابقة والفوز بها لتحقيق حُلمها بامتلاك تلك الدراجة الخضراء.

The regions of the Kingdom have attracted the producers of 5 films to shoot in the Saudi environment, which is home to many UNESCO World Heritage sites and offers vast and beautiful landscapes.
Film: Kandahar
The cities of Al-Ula and Jeddah hosted the filming of the movie "Kandahar," which is considered one of the most prominent cinematic works filmed in Saudi Arabia; the production team included more than 350 individuals, 10% of whom were Saudis.
The film showcases distinctive tourist spots in Saudi Arabia such as Al-Ula, Tabuk, Hail, Jeddah, and Taif. Its plot revolves around a secret agent in the American intelligence named (Tom Harris) who travels with his translator to Afghanistan to carry out a covert operation, but they soon find themselves fleeing from the special forces there after the operation is exposed, and this is where the film's events begin in a thrilling police framework.
The film "Kandahar" was produced jointly between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2023, directed by Ric Roman, and starring Gerard Butler.
Film: Cello
"Cello" is a global production, featuring a cast from France, Italy, Canada, the Middle East, Britain, and America, and received support from the Saudi production company Rozam Media.
The film is based on a novel and screenplay by the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, advisor Turki Al-Sheikh, and its events unfold in a framework of mystery and horror; where a cellist plays a musical piece that turns his quiet life upside down, threatening his life and that of his family.
"Cello" was produced in 2023, starring: Mila Al-Zahrani, Ilham Ali, Jeremy Irons, Tobin Bell, Samer Ismail, Suad Abdullah, and Ghassan Massoud. It is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman.
Film: Desert Warrior
Desert Warrior is considered the largest production from Hollywood ever to come to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; directed by Robert White, who directed Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it features a crew of over 500 people in this high-budget historical epic, which is regarded as the first significant foreign production in the Kingdom.
The film is inspired by the events of the Day of Dhū Qār, starring Anthony Mackie, Aisha Hart, Ben Kingsley, Sharlto Copley, Ghassan Massoud, Sami Bouajila, Lamis Ammar, and Giza Rohirig.
The film's events take place in the 7th century AD when the Arabian Peninsula was home to several tribes engaged in constant conflicts, and it was filmed in NEOM.
Film: Cherry
The film "Cherry" is considered one of the most prominent films shot in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; its story revolves around a war veteran in Iraq suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, who turns into a bank robber when he falls into the trap of addiction and his debts push him into the world of crime.
The film was shot in the Al-Ula region and stars Tom Holland.
Film: Wadjda
"Wadjda" is considered the first feature film to be entirely shot in Saudi Arabia by director Haifaa Al-Mansour, and it has won numerous awards at international film festivals. Additionally, it is the first Saudi film to be selected for an Oscar and was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Foreign Film.
The story revolves around a girl named Wadjda, who is 10 years old and always dreams of owning a green bicycle displayed in a toy store. Despite her mother's opposition, she plans to save enough money to buy that bicycle by selling some of her personal belongings. However, her plan is revealed, and she finds herself with only one option: to participate in a competition and win it to achieve her dream of owning that green bicycle.
