وأشارت الممثلة لمى الكناني، التي أدت دور (عزيزة) في المسلسل، عبر حسابها على «سناب شات»، إلى صحة الخبر المتداول عن بدء تصوير الجزء الثاني في أغسطس. وردّت بشكل مختصر بإيموجي قلب وكلمة «يا مسهّل»، مؤكدة بذلك انطلاق العمل الجديد ومثيرة حماس الجمهور.
ويقتبس مسلسل (شارع الأعشى) حلقاته من رواية (غراميات شارع الأعشى) للكاتبة بدرية البشر، ويُبرز صورة المجتمع السعودي في السبعينيات، بفترة تحولات اجتماعية وثقافية عميقة.
