بدأت الجهة المعنية، أعمال صيانة الطريق العام في حي المحاميد جنوب شرقي جدة، استجابةً لما نشرته «عكاظ» في 15 يوليو 2026، تحت عنوان «حفريات وتشققات تربك الحركة المرورية في شوارع المحاميد بجدة».
ورصدت «عكاظ» بالصور، بدء أعمال كشط الطبقة الأسفلتية المتضررة ومعالجة التشققات والهبوطات، تمهيداً لإعادة سفلتة الطريق الذي يربط حي المحاميد بأحياء الحرازات وبحرة وطريق مكة القديم، ويشهد كثافة في حركة المركبات. وكانت «عكاظ» قد نقلت شكاوى الأهالي من انتشار الحفر وتهالك الأسفلت، وما يسببه تدهور الطريق من معاناة للسكان والعابرين، فضلاً عن الأضرار التي قد تلحق بالمركبات والمخاطر التي تهدد السلامة المرورية وتؤثر في انسيابية الحركة.
ويأمل الأهالي استكمال أعمال الصيانة وفق المواصفات الفنية المطلوبة، بما يسهم في تحسين حالة الطريق، وتعزيز السلامة المرورية، والحد من معاناتهم مع الحفر والتشققات.
The relevant authority has begun maintenance work on the main road in the Al-Muhammedi neighborhood, southeast of Jeddah, in response to what was published by "Okaz" on July 15, 2026, under the title "Excavations and Cracks Disrupt Traffic Flow in the Streets of Al-Muhammedi in Jeddah."
"Okaz" documented with photos the start of the removal of the damaged asphalt layer and the treatment of cracks and depressions, in preparation for repaving the road that connects the Al-Muhammedi neighborhood with the Al-Harazat and Bahra neighborhoods and the old Mecca road, which experiences heavy vehicle traffic. "Okaz" had reported the complaints of residents regarding the spread of potholes and the deteriorating asphalt, and the suffering caused by the road's decline for both residents and passersby, in addition to the damage that may be inflicted on vehicles and the risks threatening traffic safety, which affect the smooth flow of movement.
Residents hope that the maintenance work will be completed according to the required technical specifications, contributing to improving the condition of the road, enhancing traffic safety, and reducing their suffering with potholes and cracks.
