Why do some measure a person's worth by the money they possess rather than the morals and principles they carry? This perspective has infiltrated our social relationships, and money has sometimes become a gateway to closeness, attention, and appreciation.
A person's bank account may be full of money while their spirit remains poor, and they may not have much, but they leave an inexhaustible richness in the lives of others.
A person does not grow by what they hold in their hands as much as they grow by what is in their heart, and their status is not made by their wealth but rather by their morals, stances, and the beautiful impact they have on the lives of others. True wealth is the richness of the soul when it expands to embrace everyone without asking about their status or wealth, and when peace, love, communication, and giving are behaviors that stem from the heart, unrelated to what others possess.
The blessing of money is not just in accumulating it, but in the good it creates and the impact it leaves behind. One of the most beautiful forms of this impact is to share in people's joys, to stand by them in their circumstances, and to connect with our relatives and acquaintances through moderate giving, without extravagance or expecting anything in return.
And the fact that God grants you abundance in sustenance does not mean you should only extend your hand to those who can extend theirs to you. Human relationships are not business transactions, and they should not be subject to the principle of profit and loss. Kindness is offered to the wealthy, the middle class, and the poor alike, and love is given to a person simply because they are human. Our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, guided us to a profound meaning in the nobility of the soul when he said: "Maintain ties with those who sever you, give to those who withhold from you, and pardon those who wrong you."
Here, the value of spiritual wealth is manifested; to give because giving resembles you, to connect because loyalty is part of your character, and to honor because generosity is a part of your makeup, not because you are waiting for a return or a reward. How beautiful it is for a person to be rich in spirit, wealthy in morals, pleasant in demeanor, and broad-hearted, seeing people for their humanity rather than their wealth, and granting them their worth through their love and ethics rather than what they own.
For wealth may increase and decrease, status may change, and prestige may fade, but the richness of the soul remains the most beautiful thing a person possesses and the most enduring legacy they leave in the hearts of others.
