من واقع الأحداث اللوجستية التي تواجه المنطقة في الفترة الحالية يواجه ميناء جدة الإسلامي ضغوطاً متزايدة في حجم النشاط وحركة الملاحة. ومن أبرزها ما طرح في ندوة باسم «اللقاء القطاعي لمناقشة أبرز التحديات والفرص التشغيلية بميناء جدة الإسلامي» التي أدارتها غرفة جدة التجارية بالتعاون مع موانئ. برزت تحديات من بينها مشكلة استقبال واردات السيارات في التخزين والمناولة. وهذا قد يطرح فكرة إنشاء ميناء متخصص لاستقبال هذا النوع من الواردات (السيارات والمعدات الثقيلة) في منطقة ما على ساحل البحر الأحمر تتمتع بموقع جغرافي يسمح لها بإنشاء منطقة محاذية لها في العمق الشرقي، والهدف ابتعادها عن الأجواء الرطبة لتكون صالحة للتخزين وتحتوي على مستودعات تخزين بمساحات وكفاءة وجودة عالية لشركات السيارات.
هذه المنطقة تكون بمساحة كبيرة يمكن للدولة استثمارها وتأجيرها لشركات السيارات لإنشاء مستودعات خاصة بها. وتكون خاضعة لمعايير عالية في الجودة والتخزين ومتطلبات الأمن والسلامة. ويتم تأمين طرق النقل من الميناء إلى المنطقة بطريقة مرنة وسلسة. علماً بأن عملية التخزين الجيدة التي تحافظ على المخزون تساعد أصحاب القرار في الشركات على اتخاذ قراراتهم التسويقية بدقة، لأن سوء التخزين والمناخ الحار يؤثران على المخزون، وعليه قد يتخذون قرارات تصريف سريع تجنباً للخسائر.

Solutions should not be limited to overcoming the phase and the time of the crisis, but rather to work that continues and strengthens weaknesses, making them a source of strength in the future. This can be achieved through dedicated budgets to address this type of crisis, which can be utilized to achieve sustainable solutions.
Based on the logistical events currently facing the region, the Islamic Port of Jeddah is experiencing increasing pressure in terms of activity and navigation movement. One of the most prominent issues was raised in a seminar titled "Sectoral Meeting to Discuss the Most Important Operational Challenges and Opportunities at the Islamic Port of Jeddah," which was managed by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Ports. Challenges emerged, including the problem of receiving car imports in storage and handling. This raises the idea of establishing a specialized port to receive this type of imports (cars and heavy equipment) in a location along the Red Sea coast that enjoys a geographical position allowing it to create an adjacent area in the eastern depth, with the aim of distancing it from humid conditions to make it suitable for storage and containing storage warehouses with high space, efficiency, and quality for car companies.
This area would be large enough for the state to invest in and lease to car companies for the establishment of their own warehouses. It would be subject to high standards in quality, storage, and security and safety requirements. Transportation routes from the port to the area would be secured in a flexible and smooth manner. It is worth noting that good storage practices that maintain inventory help decision-makers in companies make their marketing decisions accurately, as poor storage and hot climates affect inventory, leading them to make rapid liquidation decisions to avoid losses.
With this idea, we have reduced the pressure and operations on the Islamic Port of Jeddah and also provided significant services to car companies by giving them a specialized area instead of the scattered, unprepared warehouses around the city of Jeddah. The transportation process from the port to the warehouses will be highly flexible. Additionally, locations for dedicated transportation companies can be added to serve distribution across the regions of the Kingdom. Specialization in operations and logistical areas is not something new; when there is a burden on an operational area, specialization contributes to managing movement and quality, and helps in organizing performance indicators so that decision-makers can see the important points.
