"I feel like everything is falling apart"; a saying from someone in response to criticism they heard, here "astonishment" becomes a characteristic of the event, as this criticism, which may not have been direct, correct, or logical, despite the ambiguity of the incident, created a significant rift in the recipient's soul and a major psychological defeat to their being. The cases multiplied, surpassing the individual situation, and thus the astonishment rebounds upon itself.
What makes a generation that possesses all the tools to access knowledge, lives in the most information-rich era, has life across multiple times, and has the largest arsenal of consciousness enablers; more prone to fracture?
The answer: it starts with the way they interact with society, and how society interacts with them, through a failure to explain their reality out of fear for them, minimizing the opportunities for enemies, and the illusory propaganda for every activity they engage in; not for any reason, but to have the environment say: "You are right, and others are wrong," and "You are strong, and others are weak." Encouragement thus took a different path than it should have, instilling in them that criticism has no place, and that anyone who criticizes your work or activity is merely a hater, envious, or ignorant. A generation grew up in cotton, shielded from pain, mistakes, disappointment, and rejection. Those who formed that barrier forgot that all of this is merely building factors, and that the other opinion—with all its motives—is nothing but material for survival, a tool for living, and an intrinsic value in shaping a personality capable of withstanding the fragility we complain about.
Stiffness and growth are the result of data that begins with the child and continues with them until the last day of their life. Throughout that time, the journey of gratitude for difficult questions, embarrassing situations, disappointments, criticism, the bitterness of rejection, and the destruction of achievements, along with the effort to bolster the efforts recorded by the days, unfolds.
The fragility of depth produces a mind incapable of differentiation, extreme in its positions, leaning towards excessive simplification, seeking comfort rather than truth, affirmation rather than correction, and belonging rather than understanding.
We still have time to correct what can be repaired, to pattern resilience in fragile depths, and this will never contradict the cultivation of trust, but without exaggeration and excess.
"You are creative, this is beautiful, you did well, this is better, you have many aspects of success, and perhaps what others said is the most accurate."
The criticism you hear is not necessarily an attempt to undermine, but a perspective that serves you in one way or another; and empowering the term "difference" instead of "threat," and that defeat does not mean the end, and that failure is not the end of the mind, but its beginning.
In conclusion... let us stop flattening the world before them, and teach them that the world is not a touchscreen, but a book that is read with patience, understood with effort, and built with pain. And that great minds were not created in comfort, but shaped with the letters T and B.
