في ظل التحولات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي تشهدها المملكة العربية السعودية وفي وقت تتسارع وتيرة التحديات ويعيش الشعب مرحلة من الرخاء والرفاهية، أصبح الحديث عن التجنيد الإجباري للشباب السعودي ضرورة وطنية إستراتيجية تستدعي التفعيل العاجل وفق منهج علمي مدروس يراعي احتياجات الدولة ومتطلبات بناء الشباب السعودي.
إن برامج التجنيد الإجباري تسهم في ضبط سلوك الشباب وتقوي مهارات العمل الجماعي وتعزز الانضباط الشخصي.. في دول كثيرة عالمية أثبتت التجربة أن التجنيد الإجباري أداة فعالة لتكوين مجتمع أكثر مسؤولية واستعداداً للتحديات والمملكة بما تشهده من قفزات في التنمية تحتاج إلى برنامج مشابه يزرع في شبابها مهارات الدفاع والمسؤولية والانضباط ويصقل شخصياتهم. وأرى والرأي لصناع القرار أن يصبح تنفيذ التجنيد الإجباري في المملكة من خلال برنامج مكثف مدته 45 يوماً وهو ما يتوافق مع «الفترة التأسيسية للفرد الأساسي» في القطاعات العسكرية هذه المدة كافية من الناحية العلمية لتأهيل الشاب في جوانب كثيرة مثل أساسيات القتال والدفاع والتعامل مع الأسلحة الخفيفة (فك وتركيب وتشغيل) والتدريبات البدنية الشاملة المتضمنة السباحة والرماية وركوب الخيل كمهارات تكتيكية وثقافية، مع ورش متخصصة في الإسعافات الأولية والأمن السيبراني والتوعية الوطنية. إن التجنيد الإجباري يساهم في تقوية الانضباط الذاتي للشباب الذين يخضعون للتجنيد حيث يصبحون أكثر التزاماً بالمواعيد والقوانين ويرسّخ فيهم الشعور بالمسؤولية تجاه الوطن كما يرفع من قدرتهم على تحمل الضغط ومواجهة الأزمات. ومن وجهة نظري فإن أفضل توقيت لتطبيق هذا البرنامج هو فترة ما بعد المرحلة الثانوية مباشرة بحيث يُنفّذ خلال عطلة الصيف مما يضمن عدم تعارضه مع المسيرة التعليمية كما يُفضّل إنشاء مراكز تدريب كبرى في الرياض.. جدة.. والدمام.. لتسهيل الانخراط في البرنامج بما يراعي التوزيع الجغرافي. ويكون التجنيد الإجباري شرطاً للالتحاق بالجامعات أو الوظائف الحكومية والخاصة، كما يُمنح الشباب مكافأة مالية رمزية تشجيعية خلال فترة التجنيد. إن التجنيد الإجباري ليس مجرد برنامج عسكري مؤقت بل هو مشروع وطني لبناء الشاب السعودي وهو استثمار طويل الأمد في شباب الوطن ليكونوا أكثر قوة والتزاماً وانتماء.. إن 45 يوماً كفيلة بأن تغيّر نظرة الشاب للحياة وتُعيد صياغة سلوكه ومسؤولياته تجاه مجتمعه ووطنه وحين نستثمر في شبابنا، فإننا نستثمر في مستقبل وطننا. وحين نُدرّبهم على الانضباط والولاء، فإننا نُحصّن الوطن من الداخل. وفي اعتقادي أن الوقت الآن قد حان.. فمتى نرى هذا المشروع الوطني واقعاً على الأرض؟
In light of the social and economic transformations taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and at a time when the pace of challenges is accelerating and the people are experiencing a phase of prosperity and welfare, the discussion about mandatory military service for Saudi youth has become a strategic national necessity that requires urgent activation according to a well-studied scientific approach that takes into account the needs of the state and the requirements for building Saudi youth.
Mandatory military service programs contribute to regulating the behavior of youth, strengthening teamwork skills, and enhancing personal discipline. In many countries worldwide, experience has proven that mandatory military service is an effective tool for creating a more responsible society that is prepared for challenges. The Kingdom, with its leaps in development, needs a similar program that instills in its youth the skills of defense, responsibility, and discipline, and hones their personalities. I believe, and the decision-makers' opinion should be considered, that the implementation of mandatory military service in the Kingdom should be through an intensive 45-day program, which aligns with the "foundational period for the basic individual" in military sectors. This duration is scientifically sufficient to qualify young people in many aspects, such as the basics of combat and defense, handling light weapons (disassembling, assembling, and operating), and comprehensive physical training that includes swimming, shooting, and horseback riding as tactical and cultural skills, along with specialized workshops in first aid, cybersecurity, and national awareness. Mandatory military service contributes to strengthening the self-discipline of the youth undergoing conscription, making them more committed to schedules and laws, and instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards the homeland, while also enhancing their ability to withstand pressure and face crises. In my view, the best timing to implement this program is immediately after the secondary school stage, so it can be carried out during the summer vacation, ensuring that it does not conflict with the educational journey. It is also preferable to establish major training centers in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam to facilitate participation in the program while considering geographical distribution. Mandatory military service should be a prerequisite for joining universities or government and private jobs, and young people should be granted a symbolic financial incentive during the conscription period. Mandatory military service is not just a temporary military program but a national project for building Saudi youth; it is a long-term investment in the youth of the nation to make them stronger, more committed, and more loyal. Forty-five days are enough to change a young person's perspective on life and reshape their behavior and responsibilities towards their community and homeland. When we invest in our youth, we invest in the future of our nation. When we train them in discipline and loyalty, we fortify the homeland from within. I believe the time has come... When will we see this national project become a reality on the ground?
