The "artificial intelligence" revolution has made a huge leap in our lives, saving time and effort, so search engines have been "shelved," as we have come to love everything fast and concise, even in the way we obtain information.
This acceleration has revealed another problem known as "brain rot," which is a state of addiction to short clips that has made many unable to wait to receive information, even entertaining ones, especially before sleep. This addiction has robbed us of the pleasure of details and pushed us towards a relentless fast-paced life.
What has made matters worse is the spread of clips on social media where content is presented in the voice of "artificial intelligence," which many accounts feed on, with the sole aim of attracting views and subscriptions, even at the expense of accurate information. Many of these clips contain misleading information, or a mix of the correct and the dramatic, or even pure sensational fabrication that has no relation to reality.
The biggest danger is that these clips are widely spread on "YouTube," a platform that children and teenagers watch daily. Here lies the disaster; how many children will adopt incorrect ideas just because "artificial intelligence" said so, believing that this technology does not make mistakes or that it represents absolute truth?
In the end, "artificial intelligence" is not infallible; it is a tool that relies on the data it is fed. If the data is misleading, the results will be too, and here comes our responsibility to verify, to think, and not to let our minds be swept away by attractive clips that appear intelligent, but underneath... it is artificial stupidity.
