The Houthis... Hezbollah... Iran:
The goals are clear, even if the fronts are multiple, the slogans differ, and the methods of execution vary. When the arms of these parties extend towards the sacred places and exceed the limits of states and their sovereignty in their aggression, we are not facing a fleeting political dispute but rather a project that treats the security and stability of the region and its sanctities as arenas for conflict and settling scores.
What the Houthi group is doing in terms of assaults and threats, what is associated with Hezbollah in terms of military interventions and regional roles, and what Iran practices in terms of support, armament, and funding for its arms in the region raises a question that cannot be ignored:
What kind of project is this that raises the slogans of religion, yet turns the lives of Muslims, their security, and their sanctities into tools in its battles?
Targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, threatening Mecca and Medina, or endangering the routes of Hajj and Umrah is not merely an assault on a state or a political stance.
It is a crossing of all red lines and a stab in the conscience of more than a billion Muslims that should not pass under any pretext or ideological cover.
There is nothing more contradictory than raising the banners of supporting Islam while missiles and drones are directed towards the lands of Muslims, and the resources of peoples are drained in proxy wars, sowing hatred and division in societies exhausted by conflicts.
The sanctities are not leverage, and the two holy mosques are not a venue for recording positions or showcasing influence. They are the qibla of Muslims and the object of their reverence, and their protection is a responsibility that goes beyond narrow political calculations.
It is time to call things by their names, to reject aggression regardless of its source, and for the proponents of these projects to realize that tampering with the security of the sanctities will not create influence, and inciting peoples will not grant them legitimacy.
History does not forgive those who use religion as a cover, nor does it pardon those who make the sanctities the target of their adventures.
