Continuing from the previous article titled: Saudi Arabia... and the upcoming deterrence for the "Houthis," published in "Okaz" on September 14, 2026, the question arose: Why has the Houthi crossed all red lines?
The answer is simple: because he does not recognize any lines, as he is a "commanded servant," an obedient executor of everything his masters in Iran dictate to him. They could not find anyone better than him for "blind obedience," aiming to tear apart an ancient and diverse Arab country like Yemen, just as they did in Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, leaving it fragmented, divided, and torn apart by poverty, ignorance, and destruction. However, the important thing is that this Yemen (Arab) has resisted the Houthi, and Tehran's agents have only managed to occupy Sana'a and a few districts in the north of the country. As for the red lines, he crossed them the day he moved from "extortion, aggression, and crimes" targeting the Kingdom and its oil facilities, to exceeding all limits by launching drones towards "Bakkah," the holiest place for Muslims (Mecca), where the honorable Kaaba and the sacred land are located. Before people could recover from the shock of attempting to bomb the Sacred House of God, the Houthi surprised the world by bombing the city of Taif. This bombing resulted in the death of a Yemeni resident. The Houthi in Yemen kills Yemenis without accountability, and he also kills them outside Yemen... without accountability!
Perhaps the most accurate description of what the Houthi is doing towards Saudi Arabia is what an American news site labeled it: extorting Saudi Arabia. The truth is that Saudi Arabia has accumulated extensive experience with those who excel in the audacity of "extortion." There is nothing left that scares or disturbs them, and their hobby has become to annoy those who extort them by depriving them of what they seek and aspire to.
The reality is that the Houthi wants to hit ten birds with one stone. He aims to extort Saudi Arabia to lift the surveillance on ports and airports. This surveillance is imposed according to international resolutions to prevent Iran from supplying the Houthi with weapons, drone components, and sending "experts" to train his fighters. At the same time, it fulfills its complete and uncompromised duty towards the Yemeni people, providing humanitarian and relief assistance, medical convoys, and opening its doors to millions of Yemenis fleeing the oppression and tyranny of the Houthi and his crimes.
Now the Houthi is opening a new chapter in "extortion" by attempting to control the western coast of Yemen, especially the islands overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb. He declares that the Bab el-Mandeb Strait is open to international navigation except for Saudi ships. He coordinates with Iran's agents in Iraq to bomb the East-West oil pipeline, thinking that this is the pinnacle of "extortion," and that Saudi Arabia no longer has options to export its oil and products of fertilizers and petrochemicals. This is a superficial way of thinking that collapses quickly!
Closing the Bab el-Mandeb against ships, tankers, and shipments of oil and petrochemicals will not only harm Saudi Arabia but will also affect the entire world.
It is true that Saudi Arabia has enough men, strength, and alliances to defend itself and to take revenge on the Houthi and Iran's agents in Iraq. It would only require activating that strength and those alliances, but it refrains from doing so in what can be described as "strategic patience" towards the Houthi-Iranian harm, prioritizing greater interests because it does not want to see the region engulfed in fire and gunpowder, heading towards more wars and conflicts.
It is certain that Saudi Arabia is capable and very capable of teaching the Houthi lessons that his leaders will not forget, nor will his masters in Qom and Tehran. It is capable, with its forces, men, equipment, and the massive arms deals it possesses, of feeding him stones that he will find difficult to swallow except at the edge of the grave. And as long as he has chosen "criminal extortion," he must bear the consequences, and he will taste woe, calamity, and fire. Saudi Arabia is patient, but when it strikes, it hurts and retaliates twofold... and there is no consolation for the hateful.
