Sports media represents one of the main pillars in the contemporary media landscape, significantly influencing society, especially when sports are among the fundamental components of the "Quality of Life" program or in terms of the economic aspects of the vision. Therefore, its role is not limited to merely conveying results and events; it extends to actively contributing to shaping the awareness of the sports audience and promoting values related to fair competition and sportsmanship, ensuring that it plays an effective and important role in both the short and long term.
Sports media, which has been distortedly replicated from some countries that enjoy noise, is not necessarily the type of media work that can be relied upon. Every project has a goal, a message, tools, and investment, and each investment, whether in terms of "material" capital or "social" capital, has an independent map shaped by its origin. For example, the "Al-Badia" program that we admire may not be understood or preferred in a country like the United States or the European Union.
I believe that for sports media professionals to achieve a high level of professional performance, they must possess a balanced mix of specialized sports culture and comprehensive general culture, ensuring the provision of rich, reliable, and profitable content. Specialized sports culture is what the media professional relies on in their professional practices, as it grants them comprehensive knowledge of game rules, competition systems, prominent records, and achievements, alongside tracking the historical developments of sports at both local and global levels. This precise knowledge enables them to conduct objective analyses and formulate accurate professional reports, in addition to using correct technical terminology and enriching coverage with comparisons and technical readings that deepen the audience's understanding. However, comprehensive general culture is considered the main axis that leads the sports media professional to sit at the dialogue table and present insights that align with the current scene, as it broadens the media professional's horizons and grants them the ability to connect sports events with their social, political, and economic contexts.
Sports, by their nature, are inseparable from their human environment and have a profound and direct impact on it, especially in the era of social media and the open world. Understanding this interconnectedness enables the media creator, legislator, or journalist to provide balanced, purposeful, and comprehensive content that combines information and deep analysis.
General culture enhances the media professional's ability to employ language with eloquence and precision, invoking cultural and literary references that enrich the dialogue and add a human and intellectual dimension to the coverage, granting the general sports scene an exceptional capacity to present rich discussions, raise essential questions, and build high-quality reports and investigations. This integration leads us to achieve public trust and gain credibility, expanding the circle of influence and serving the sports project in both horizontal and vertical dimensions, making the media professional a reliable source of information and analysis. The combination of general and sports culture, along with tools and platforms, grants the scene high, intelligent, and distinctive professionalism, providing the media professional with a broader dimension in specialization and accuracy and equipping them with a comprehensive vision and advanced analytical ability.
Thus, the combination of both is a fundamental condition for achieving high-level sports media capable of performing its message professionally and contributing to raising the level of sports awareness in society, provided that we know more about what we want from sports media in the era of the open world, in a time of capabilities and potentials, in an era where we can transform this sector into the richest sectors of transportation, photography, and production, even richer than sports itself.
