وُجّهت تهمة القتل إلى رجل يبلغ من العمر 36 عاماً، يُعتقد أنه سوري، عقب العثور على جثة رجل يبلغ 52 عاماً داخل حاوية قمامة في مدينة بليموث، جنوب غربي إنجلترا، وفقاً لما أوردته صحيفة «ديلي ميل» البريطانية.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن الشرطة ألقت القبض على المشتبه به، محمد أبو طاقة، بعد اكتشاف جثة علي برزاي في حاوية قمامة بمنطقة ويست هو، صباح الأربعاء. ووصلت فرق الطوارئ إلى المكان، حيث أُعلن عن وفاة برزاي، الذي يُعتقد أنه من أصول شمال أفريقية.
ولا يزال المتهم قيد الاحتجاز لدى الشرطة، على أن يمثل أمام محكمة الصلح في بليموث يوم الاثنين.
وعقب العثور على الجثة، فرضت شرطة ديفون وكورنوال طوقاً أمنياً حول الموقع والطرق المحيطة به، فيما باشر المحققون إجراءات المعاينة الجنائية والتفتيش، إلى جانب الاستماع إلى إفادات سكان المنازل المجاورة وجمع المعلومات اللازمة لكشف ملابسات الواقعة.
A 36-year-old man, believed to be Syrian, has been charged with murder following the discovery of a 52-year-old man's body inside a garbage container in Plymouth, southwest England, according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail."
The newspaper reported that police arrested the suspect, Mohammed Abu Taqa, after the body of Ali Barzai was found in a garbage container in the West Hoe area on Wednesday morning. Emergency teams arrived at the scene, where Barzai, who is believed to be of North African descent, was pronounced dead.
The accused remains in police custody and is set to appear before the Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Following the discovery of the body, Devon and Cornwall Police imposed a security cordon around the site and the surrounding roads, while investigators began forensic examinations and searches, as well as interviewing residents of nearby homes and gathering information necessary to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
