In a scenario reminiscent of crime thriller movies, a young Moroccan fell into the hands of security in Casablanca after weaving a sophisticated fraud network, during which he turned his home into a "fake justice chamber" to ensnare his victims, impersonating a judge at the primary court!
The threads of this crime began to unravel when it became clear that the suspect was nothing more than a "former intern" who had spent a training period at the primary criminal court in Ain Sebaa in 2021. Those days he spent among the court corridors were not a practical and scientific application or a lesson in law for him, but rather a "training course in fraud," where he exploited the details of the workflow and its behind-the-scenes, to devise his malicious plan after failing to secure an official judicial position.
To tighten the chapters of his crime and make the "trick" convincing to the victims, the suspect transformed his home into an office resembling that of judges, adorned with a complete legal library, and made sure to wear a special suit for judges. Even more alarming, he obtained a "fake appointment decree" which he brandished in front of every victim who fell into his trap.
The fraudster deceived his visitors into believing that he was "a judge at the presidency who does not attend sessions," exploiting this fictitious title to steal money from innocent victims, promising them to issue rulings of acquittal or reduced sentences in the criminal court.
But the rope of lies is short; after matching complaints and reports, the judicial police unit acted on strict instructions from the public prosecution to surprise the suspect inside his fake lair. The operation resulted in the seizure of a computer and a mobile phone for digital examination, while investigations continue with other victims who fell into the trap of the "fake judge," awaiting what justice will decide in the face of serious charges including fraud, forgery and use of it, and impersonation of a judicial official in an official capacity regulated by law.
