في مشهد مرعب تحول فيه الطريق السريع إلى ساحة لمأساة استثنائية، شهدت مدينة برينس جورج غرب كندا حادثة مرورية غير مألوفة على الإطلاق، بعدما اصطدمت طائرة صغيرة بسيارة بشكل مباشر أثناء محاولتها تنفيذ هبوط اضطراري مفاجئ.
بدأت التفاصيل عندما واجهت طائرة صغيرة من طراز «بيتشكرافت» خللاً طارئاً دفع قائدها لمحاولة الهبوط اضطرارياً على طريق رئيسي مكتظ بالحركة، على بعد نحو 700 كيلومتر شمال مدينة فانكوفر.
ولم تمهل الظروف قائد الطائرة لتفادي السيارات المنتشرة على الطريق، لتصطدم الطائرة فور ملامستها الأرض بسيارتين كانتا تسيران في اتجاهها، مما أسفر عن مقتل أحد السائقين داخل إحدى السيارتين فوراً جراء قوة الاصطدام القاتلة.
الصور الملتقطة من موقع الحادثة أظهرت الطائرة وقد استقرت على الأعشاب بجانب الطريق المحادي لمنطقة زراعية، بينما ضربت الشرطة طوقاً أمنياً حول المكان وفتحت تحقيقات عاجلة للوقوف على الأسباب التقنية التي أجبرت الطائرة على هذا الهبوط القاتل.
In a terrifying scene where the highway turned into a site of an extraordinary tragedy, the city of Prince George in western Canada witnessed an unusual traffic incident when a small plane collided directly with a car while attempting an emergency landing.
The details began when a small "Beechcraft" aircraft encountered an emergency malfunction that prompted its pilot to attempt an emergency landing on a busy main road, about 700 kilometers north of Vancouver.
The circumstances did not allow the pilot to avoid the cars on the road, leading to the plane colliding immediately upon touching down with two cars that were traveling in its direction, resulting in the immediate death of one driver in one of the vehicles due to the force of the fatal impact.
Photos taken from the scene of the incident showed the plane resting on the grass beside the road adjacent to a farming area, while police cordoned off the area and launched urgent investigations to determine the technical reasons that forced the aircraft into this deadly landing.
