لقي 8 أشخاص على الأقل مصرعهم، وفُقد 34 آخرون إثر انهيار أرضي وقع اليوم في مقاطعة بنغشوي جنوب شرق الصين.
وأفادت قناة «سي سي تي في» الصينية أن أكثر من 800 عنصر إنقاذ شاركوا في عمليات البحث، فيما تم العثور على 18 شخصاً كانوا محاصرين، بينهم 8 لقوا حتفهم.
وأظهرت مشاهد تلفزيونية كميات كبيرة من الصخور والأتربة غطت منطقة سكنية وتجارية عند سفح جبل.
ودعا الرئيس الصيني شي جينبينغ إلى إجراء عمليات بحث شاملة وتحديد أسباب الحادثة، فيما خصصت الحكومة الصينية 50 مليون يوان لدعم جهود الإنقاذ ومساعدة المتضررين.
ويأتي ذلك بعد أقل من أسبوعين من انهيار أرضي آخر في مقاطعة غانسو شمال غرب الصين، أسفر عن مصرع 21 شخصاً.

The Chinese channel "CCTV" reported that more than 800 rescue workers participated in the search operations, while 18 people who were trapped were found, including 8 who lost their lives.
Television footage showed large amounts of rocks and dirt covering a residential and commercial area at the foot of a mountain.
Chinese President Xi Jinping called for comprehensive search operations and an investigation into the causes of the incident, while the Chinese government allocated 50 million yuan to support rescue efforts and assist those affected.
This comes less than two weeks after another landslide in Gansu Province in northwestern China, which resulted in the deaths of 21 people.
