في مشهد مأساوي يعكس حجم الكارثة التي حلت بفنزويلا، لا تزال الأرض تكشف عن أسرارها المؤلمة بعد الزلزالين العنيفين اللذين ضربا البلاد في 24 يونيو الماضي بفارق لم يتجاوز 39 ثانية وبقوة بلغت 7.2 و 7.5 درجة، محولين مجمعات سكنية شاهقة إلى ركام في لمحة بصر.
ومع استمرار عمليات البحث وسط الأنقاض، أعلن رئيس الجمعية الوطنية الفنزويلية خورخي رودريجيز عبر تطبيق «تيليغرام» ارتفاع حصيلة الضحايا المفجعة إلى 4490 قتيلاً، بعد أن كانت الحصيلة السابقة تقف عند 4333. كما تخطى عدد المصابين حاجز 16740 شخصاً، في حين تسابق فرق الإنقاذ الزمن مدعومة بجهود محلية ودولية استثنائية؛ إذ يشارك نحو 31837 عنصراً من فرق الطوارئ، وأكثر من 30 ألف متطوع، إلى جانب 2422 من رجال الإنقاذ الأجانب.
ورغم قسوة المشهد وتلاشي الآمال مع إدراج السلطات آلاف الأشخاص في عداد المفقودين، إلا أن بصيص النور تجسد في نجاح الفرق حتى أمس الأول (السبت) في انتشال 6462 ناجياً من تحت الأنقاض، لتستمر الملحمة الإنسانية في شمالي فنزويلا بحثاً عن حياة جديدة وسط الدمار.

As search operations continue amidst the debris, the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, announced via the Telegram app that the devastating death toll has risen to 4,490, up from the previous count of 4,333. The number of injured has surpassed 16,740, while rescue teams race against time, supported by exceptional local and international efforts; approximately 31,837 emergency responders are participating, along with more than 30,000 volunteers, and 2,422 foreign rescue workers.
Despite the harshness of the scene and the fading hopes as authorities list thousands of people as missing, a glimmer of hope has emerged with the teams successfully rescuing 6,462 survivors from under the rubble as of the day before yesterday (Saturday), continuing the humanitarian saga in northern Venezuela in search of new life amidst the destruction.
