في واقعة غير مسبوقة، أعلن الجيش الأمريكي مكافأة مالية لمن يدلي بمعلومات تؤدي إلى القبض على لصين سرقا طائرات مسيّرة من قاعدة فورت كامبل في ولاية كنتاكي، وسط مخاوف من احتمال استخدام الطائرات في هجمات محتملة على الأراضي الأمريكية.
ووفق ما نشرته صحيفة «واشنطن بوست»، فإن قسم التحقيقات الجنائية بالجيش يعرض 5000 دولار لمن يكشف عن مكان اللصوص، بعد أن سُرقت الطائرات بين 21 و24 نوفمبر الماضي. ولم يتم الإفصاح عن تاريخ اكتشاف الفقدان، لكنها طائرات من طراز Skydio X10D، رباعية المراوح، خفيفة الوزن وطويلة المدى، مزودة بتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي للحد من الاصطدامات والاتصال عبر شبكات الجيل الخامس، ما يمنحها نطاق إشارة واسعًا جدًا.
ونشر محققو الجيش صورًا للمشتبه بهما، يرتديان قبعات وسترات شتوية وقفازات بينما كان أحدهما مرتديًا قناعًا. وتقدر قيمة كل طائرة بحوالى 30 ألف دولار.
وتأتي هذه الحادثة في وقت تشهد فيه العلاقات الأمريكية الإيرانية توترًا، حيث يحذر الخبراء من احتمال استخدام الطائرات المسيّرة في غارات جوية أو استهداف مصالح أمريكية. وتؤكد السلطات الأمريكية أن التحقيقات مستمرة للوصول إلى الجناة وضمان عدم استغلال هذه الطائرات في أعمال تهدد الأمن القومي.
In an unprecedented incident, the U.S. Army announced a cash reward for anyone who provides information leading to the capture of two thieves who stole drones from Fort Campbell base in Kentucky, amid fears that the drones could be used in potential attacks on U.S. soil.
According to what was published by the Washington Post, the Army's Criminal Investigation Division is offering $5,000 for information on the whereabouts of the thieves, after the drones were stolen between November 21 and 24. The date of the discovery of the theft has not been disclosed, but the drones are of the Skydio X10D model, quadcopters that are lightweight and long-range, equipped with artificial intelligence technologies to reduce collisions and connect via 5G networks, giving them a very wide signal range.
Army investigators released images of the suspects, who were wearing hats, winter jackets, and gloves, while one of them was wearing a mask. Each drone is valued at approximately $30,000.
This incident comes at a time when U.S.-Iranian relations are tense, with experts warning of the possibility of the drones being used in airstrikes or targeting U.S. interests. U.S. authorities confirm that investigations are ongoing to reach the perpetrators and ensure that these drones are not exploited in activities that threaten national security.
