ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الزلزال الذي ضرب إقليم سيبو وسط الفلبين إلى 69 شخصًا.
وأوضح نائب مدير مكتب الدفاع المدني الفلبيني بيرناردو رافايلتو اليخاندرو أن معظم الوفيات وقعت نتيجة سقوط الحطام، مبينًا أن الأولوية لعمليات البحث والإنقاذ، خصوصا في مدينة بوجو، مركز الزلزال، مشيرًا إلى أنه ما زال هناك هزات ارتدادية، والكثيرون يرفضون العودة إلى منازلهم، خاصة في مدينة بوجو.
وسجل معهد الفلبين لرصد نشاط البراكين والزلازل أكثر من 600 هزة ارتدادية، بلغت قوتها 4.8 درجة على مقياس ريختر.

Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro, the deputy director of the Philippine Office of Civil Defense, explained that most of the fatalities occurred due to falling debris, noting that the priority is on search and rescue operations, especially in the city of Bogo, the epicenter of the earthquake. He pointed out that there are still aftershocks, and many people refuse to return to their homes, particularly in the city of Bogo.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded more than 600 aftershocks, with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale.
