عاشت أسرة بولاية كوينزلاند الأسترالية لحظات من الرعب، بعد أن اكتشفت وجود ثعبان سام مختبئ داخل صندوق بيتزا مهمل في منزلها.
وبحسب موقع «تيمز أوف إنديا» فإن الحادثة الغريبة وقعت بعد أن تُرك الباب الخلفي للمنزل مفتوحا، ما سمح للثعبان بالتسلل إلى الداخل والاختباء وسط القمامة بجوار سلة المهملات.
وتم استدعاء خبير إزالة الثعابين، دانييل بوسترا، المعروف باسم «صائد الثعابين دان»، والذي وثّق عملية استخراج الثعبان في فيديو نُشر لاحقا على الإنترنت.
وفي تعليقه على الفيديو، قال بوسترا مازحا: «ما كمية السم التي تريدها على البيتزا الخاصة بك؟»، مضيفا أن الثعبان الأسود ذا البطن الحمراء كان ملتفا داخل صندوق البيتزا.
وأظهر المقطع الثعبان بهيئته المميزة، إذ قال بوسترا: «إنه ثعبان وسيم». وأوضح أن هذا النوع، رغم أنه ليس من الأكبر حجما، إلا أنه بدا بصحة جيدة.
كما أشار إلى أن هذه الثعابين، المعروفة باسم «الثعبان الأسود أحمر البطن»، تُعد شديدة السمية، رغم أنها لا تُصنف ضمن أكثر الأنواع فتكا في أستراليا. وأضاف أن هذا النوع عادةً ما يتجنب المواجهة، لكنه قد يدافع عن نفسه إذا شعر بالتهديد.
ويُعتبر الثعبان الأسود أحمر البطن من الزواحف المحلية في شرق أستراليا، ويفضّل العيش بالقرب من المسطحات المائية، مثل الجداول والمستنقعات والسدود الزراعية. ويمتاز بجسمه الأسود اللامع وبطنه الذي يراوح لونه بين القرمزي والوردي الفاتح.
وبعد الحادثة، دعت الجهات المختصة السكان إلى إغلاق الأبواب والنوافذ بإحكام، وتجنب ترك بقايا الطعام مكشوفة، وعدم محاولة التعامل مع الزواحف بأنفسهم، بل الاتصال بصيادي الثعابين المؤهلين في حال حدوث موقف مشابه.
A family in Queensland, Australia, experienced moments of terror after discovering a venomous snake hiding inside an abandoned pizza box in their home.
According to the "Times of India" website, the strange incident occurred after the back door of the house was left open, allowing the snake to sneak inside and hide among the trash next to the garbage bin.
Snake removal expert Daniel Pustra, known as "Snake Catcher Dan," was called to the scene and documented the extraction of the snake in a video later posted online.
In his commentary on the video, Pustra joked, "How much venom do you want on your pizza?" adding that the black snake with a red belly was coiled inside the pizza box.
The footage showed the snake in its distinctive appearance, with Pustra stating, "It's a handsome snake." He explained that this species, although not one of the largest, appeared to be in good health.
He also noted that these snakes, known as "red-bellied black snakes," are highly venomous, although they are not classified among the deadliest species in Australia. He added that this type usually avoids confrontation but may defend itself if it feels threatened.
The red-bellied black snake is considered a native reptile in eastern Australia and prefers to live near water bodies, such as streams, swamps, and agricultural dams. It is characterized by its shiny black body and a belly that ranges in color from crimson to light pink.
After the incident, authorities urged residents to securely close doors and windows, avoid leaving food scraps exposed, and not attempt to handle reptiles themselves, but rather to contact qualified snake catchers in the event of a similar situation.
