ولم ترد حتى الآن معلومات عن وقوع خسائر مادية أو بشرية جراء الزلزال.
يشار إلى أن البيرو تقع على حزام النار في المحيط الهادي، وهي نقطة نشاط زلزالي تمتد على طول الساحل الغربي للقارة الأمريكية.

The United States Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred 31 kilometers from the area of "Vilcanchios," at a depth of 94.5 kilometers.
