أعلنت الشرطة الأسترالية، اليوم الثلاثاء، إلقاءها القبض على أكثر من 1,200 شخص ومصادرة نحو 3 أطنان من المخدرات، ضمن عملية استمرت أسبوعاً استهدفت نشاط الجريمة المنظمة.
واستمرت العملية المشتركة من 1 حتى 5 سبتمبر الجاري.
وتهدف العملية إلى الحد من توفر المخدرات في أنحاء أستراليا، حسبما جاء في بيان مشترك للسلطات المحلية والسلطات الاتحادية.
يشار إلى أن شرطة نيوزيلندا شاركت أيضاً في العملية. وتم توجيه 2,522 تهمة لـ 1,246 شخصاً في أنحاء البلاد.
The Australian police announced today, Tuesday, that they have arrested more than 1,200 people and seized about 3 tons of drugs, as part of an operation that lasted a week targeting organized crime activities.
The joint operation took place from September 1 to 5.
The aim of the operation is to reduce the availability of drugs across Australia, according to a joint statement from local and federal authorities.
It is worth noting that the New Zealand police also participated in the operation. A total of 2,522 charges were laid against 1,246 individuals across the country.
