أقدمت إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب على إيقاف أكثر من 10 موظفين في وكالة إدارة الطوارئ الفدرالية (FEMA) عن العمل، وذلك بعد توقيعهم رسالة مفتوحة انتقدت قيادة الوكالة وتوجهاتها، وفق ما ذكرت صحيفة واشنطن بوست.
الرسالة التي وقّعها نحو 180 موظفًا حاليًا وسابقًا، وُجّهت إلى أعضاء في الكونغرس ومسؤولين حكوميين، وتضمنت اعتراضات على طريقة إدارة الوكالة لملفاتها، في ظل تزايد الضغوط المتعلقة بالكوارث الطبيعية والتغير المناخي.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة في وقت يواجه فيه البيت الأبيض انتقادات حادة بشأن سياساته المتعلقة بالمناخ وإدارة الكوارث.
The administration of President Donald Trump has moved to suspend more than 10 employees at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) after they signed an open letter criticizing the agency's leadership and direction, according to the Washington Post.
The letter, signed by around 180 current and former employees, was addressed to members of Congress and government officials, and included objections to the agency's management of its files amid increasing pressures related to natural disasters and climate change.
This step comes at a time when the White House is facing sharp criticism regarding its policies on climate and disaster management.
