أصدر الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون قراراً بمنح برلمانية مصرية وسام «جوقة الشرف» برتبة فارس، وهو أعلى تكريم مدني في فرنسا.
ونشرت الصحيفة الرسمية في مصر (الوقائع المصرية) اليوم (الإثنين) نص قرار منح الدكتورة جيهان زكي، عضو مجلس النواب المصري أستاذة الحضارة المصرية القديمة، الوسام الفرنسي الرفيع.
وبحسب القرار جاء هذا التكريم تقديراً لإسهاماتها المتميزة في تعزيز الثقافة والدبلوماسية الناعمة، ودورها في بناء جسور الحوار بين الحضارات، وتعزيز قيم السلام والتسامح والمعرفة عبر الحدود.
ومن المقرر أن يُقام حفل تسليم الوسام في قصر «جوقة الشرف» المطل على نهر السين في باريس خلال خريف 2025، بحضور نخبة من الشخصيات الثقافية والدبلوماسية الدولية.
جاء قرار التكريم بناءً على توصية من وزارة الشؤون الأوروبية والتعاون الدولي الفرنسية، التي أشادت بدور الدكتورة جيهان زكي كصوت فكري بارز في المحافل الدولية.
تمثل البرلمانية المصرية رمزاً للثقافة العربية والأفريقية، حيث ساهمت في الترويج لصورة مصر كقوة ثقافية ناعمة، خصوصاً من خلال عملها رئيسة للمتحف المصري الكبير، ومستشارة ثقافية سابقة لمصر في إيطاليا، ومديرة الأكاديمية المصرية للفنون في روما.
الدكتورة جيهان زكي هي نائبة في مجلس النواب المصري، وباحثة متميزة في الحضارة المصرية القديمة، وأستاذة في جامعة السوربون.
قادت العديد من المبادرات الثقافية التي عززت التعاون بين مصر وأوروبا، ما جعلها واحدة من أبرز الشخصيات الدبلوماسية الثقافية في العالم العربي، وسبق لها أن حصلت على وسام «فارس» الفرنسي عام 2009 من الرئيس السابق نيكولا ساركوزي، تقديراً لجهودها في تعزيز العلاقات الثقافية بين ضفتي المتوسط، إضافة إلى أوسمة دولية أخرى من إيطاليا.
French President Emmanuel Macron has issued a decision to award an Egyptian parliamentarian the "Legion of Honor" medal at the rank of Knight, which is the highest civilian honor in France.
The official newspaper in Egypt (Al-Waqa'i' Al-Misriyah) published today (Monday) the text of the decision to grant Dr. Jihan Zaki, a member of the Egyptian House of Representatives and a professor of ancient Egyptian civilization, the prestigious French medal.
According to the decision, this honor comes in recognition of her distinguished contributions to promoting culture and soft diplomacy, her role in building bridges of dialogue between civilizations, and her efforts to enhance values of peace, tolerance, and knowledge across borders.
The medal presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place at the "Legion of Honor" palace overlooking the Seine River in Paris during the fall of 2025, with the attendance of a select group of cultural and international diplomatic figures.
The decision for the honor was made based on a recommendation from the French Ministry of European Affairs and International Cooperation, which praised Dr. Jihan Zaki's role as a prominent intellectual voice in international forums.
The Egyptian parliamentarian represents a symbol of Arab and African culture, having contributed to promoting Egypt's image as a soft cultural power, particularly through her work as the head of the Grand Egyptian Museum, a former cultural advisor for Egypt in Italy, and the director of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome.
Dr. Jihan Zaki is a member of the Egyptian House of Representatives, an outstanding researcher in ancient Egyptian civilization, and a professor at the Sorbonne University.
She has led numerous cultural initiatives that strengthened cooperation between Egypt and Europe, making her one of the most prominent cultural diplomatic figures in the Arab world. She previously received the French "Knight" medal in 2009 from former President Nicolas Sarkozy, in recognition of her efforts to enhance cultural relations between the two shores of the Mediterranean, in addition to other international honors from Italy.
