بعد تتويجه بلقب كأس السوبر السعودي لكرة القدم للمرة الثانية في تاريخه، إثر فوزه على نظيره النصر بركلات الترجيح (5 - 3)، بعد انتهاء الوقت الأصلي بالتعادل الإيجابي (2 - 2)، في المواجهة التي أقيمت بينهما على استاد هونغ كونغ الدولي، وصل فريق النادي الأهلي إلى جدة. ويُعد هذا الإنجاز إضافة جديدة لمسيرة الأهلي في البطولة، وسبق له التتويج باللقب في نسخة عام 2016، وكان ظهوره الحالي الثالث في تاريخه، وخاض النصر النهائي للمرة السادسة في تاريخه، متوّجًا باللقب مرتين عامي 2020 و2021.
ورغم أن النصر افتتح التسجيل عبر لاعبه كريستيانو رونالدو من ركلة جزاء عند الدقيقة (41)، إلا أن الأهلي أدرك التعادل عن طريق لاعبه فرانك كيسيه عند الدقيقة (5+45)، ليعود النصر للتقدم مجددًا بواسطة لاعبه مارسيلو بروزوفيتش عند الدقيقة (82)، وخطف الأهلي هدف التعديل عند الدقيقة (88) عن طريق اللاعب روجير إيبانيز، لتمتد المباراة إلى ركلات الترجيح، التي تألق فيها الحارس إدوارد ميندي بتصديه للركلة النصراوية الرابعة، مانحًا فريقه لقب البطولة.
يُذكر أن الأهلي تأهل إلى المباراة النهائية بعد فوزه على القادسية بنتيجة (5 - 1)، وبلغ النصر النهائي عقب تفوقه على الاتحاد بنتيجة (2 - 1).

After winning the Saudi Super Cup title for the second time in its history, following its victory over Al-Nassr in a penalty shootout (5 - 3) after the regular time ended in a positive draw (2 - 2), in the match held at Hong Kong International Stadium, Al-Ahli Club's team arrived in Jeddah. This achievement is a new addition to Al-Ahli's journey in the tournament, having previously won the title in 2016. This current appearance marks their third in history, while Al-Nassr reached the final for the sixth time, having won the title twice in 2020 and 2021.
Although Al-Nassr opened the scoring through their player Cristiano Ronaldo with a penalty in the (41st) minute, Al-Ahli equalized through their player Franck Kessié in the (45+5) minute. Al-Nassr then took the lead again with a goal from their player Marcelo Brozović in the (82nd) minute, but Al-Ahli snatched the equalizer in the (88th) minute through player Roger Ibanez, leading the match to penalties, where goalkeeper Edouard Mendy shone by saving Al-Nassr's fourth penalty, granting his team the title.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Ahli qualified for the final after defeating Al-Qadisiyah with a score of (5 - 1), while Al-Nassr reached the final after overcoming Al-Ittihad with a score of (2 - 1).
