فرض الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم، الثلاثاء، عقوبة إيقاف لمدة 8 أسابيع على الحكم السابق دافيد كوت، بسبب تصريحات مسيئة أدلى بها عن مدرب ليفربول السابق يورغن كلوب، ظهرت في فيديو انتشر العام الماضي.
وكان كوت قد أُقيل من منصبه في هيئة الحكام الإنجليزية (PGMOL) بعد تداول الفيديو الذي سُجّل في يوليو 2020، واعتبر الاتحاد أن تصرفه يمثل خرقاً مشدداً للوائح، لاحتوائه على إشارة إلى الجنسية.
إضافة إلى الإيقاف، سيلتزم كوت بحضور برنامج تعليمي إلزامي، كما حُظر عليه ممارسة أي نشاط تحكيمي مع الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم حتى يونيو 2026.
وكان دافيد كوت قد بدأ مسيرته الاحترافية في التحكيم في موسم 2017 بقيادة مباراة كريستال بالاس وبورنموث ضمن مباريات الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، وقاد (112 مباراة) في الدوري قبل أن يتم إيقافه رسمياً.

The English Football Association imposed an 8-week suspension on former referee David Coote on Tuesday due to offensive remarks he made about former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, which appeared in a video that circulated last year.
Coote had been dismissed from his position at the English referees' body (PGMOL) after the video recorded in July 2020 was circulated, and the association deemed his behavior a serious breach of regulations due to its reference to nationality.
In addition to the suspension, Coote will be required to attend a mandatory educational program, and he has been banned from officiating any activities with UEFA until June 2026.
