تأهل منتخبنا الوطني السعودي لكرة اليد للدور الثاني (دور الـ16) من بطولة العالم للناشئين تحت 19 عاماً، التي تُقام حالياً في جمهورية مصر العربية، وذلك عقب فوزه الكبير على منتخب غينيا بفارق 23 هدفاً، وبنتيجة (48-25)، خلال المواجهة التي جمعتهما مساء اليوم (السبت)، على الصالة الرياضية بالعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة، في إطار منافسات الجولة الثالثة والاخيرة من الدور التمهيدي للمجموعة الرابعة.
وحصل لاعب المنتخب السعودي أحمد نبيل العبيدي على جائزة رجل المباراة، بعد تألقه اللافت بتسجيله 18 هدفاً من أصل 19 تسديدة، بنسبة نجاح بلغت 95%.
وجاء تأهل ناشئي أخضر اليد بعد حصولهم على المركز الثاني في المجموعة الرابعة (D)، إثر خوضهم ثلاث مباريات، حققوا خلالها انتصاراً واحداً وتعادلاً مع البرازيل وخسارة وحيدة من متصدر المجموعة منتخب آيسلندا.
ومن المقرر أن تنطلق مواجهات دور الـ16 يوم الاثنين القادم، على أن يتحدد منافسو المنتخب السعودي بعد نهاية جميع مباريات الدور الأول من البطولة.
وأعرب رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة اليد حسن بن نصر هلال، عن فخره بما قدمه اللاعبون، وقال: أبطالنا أثبتوا أن روح الفوز كانت موجودة، وكنا فعلياً بحاجة للفوز بفارق 23 هدفاً، وهذا ما تحقق بفضل الله ثم بجهود اللاعبين والجهازين الفني والإداري، وما زلنا نطمح لمواصلة المشوار وتحقيق نتائج إيجابية فيما تبقى من المباريات.
Our national Saudi handball team has qualified for the second round (Round of 16) of the World Championship for Under-19s, currently taking place in the Arab Republic of Egypt, following their significant victory over the Guinea team by a margin of 23 goals, with a score of (48-25), during the match held this evening (Saturday) at the sports hall in the new administrative capital, as part of the third and final round of the preliminary stage of Group D.
Saudi player Ahmed Nabil Al-Obaidi was awarded the Man of the Match title after his remarkable performance, scoring 18 goals out of 19 attempts, with a success rate of 95%.
The qualification of the young Green handball team came after they secured second place in Group D, having played three matches, achieving one victory, one draw against Brazil, and one loss to the group leader, the Iceland team.
The Round of 16 matches are scheduled to begin next Monday, with the opponents of the Saudi team to be determined after all first-round matches of the tournament conclude.
The President of the Saudi Handball Federation, Hassan bin Nasr Hilal, expressed his pride in the players' performance, stating: "Our champions have proven that the spirit of victory was present, and we truly needed to win by a margin of 23 goals, which was achieved thanks to God and the efforts of the players and the technical and administrative staff. We still aspire to continue our journey and achieve positive results in the remaining matches."
