تُوّج منتخب إنجلترا للسيدات بطلاً لكأس أمم أوروبا للمرة الثانية على التوالي، بعد فوزه في النهائي على منتخب إسبانيا بركلات الترجيح، بعد نهاية الوقتين الأصلي والإضافي بالتعادل بنتيجة (1-1).
وحافظت سيدات إنجلترا بهذا التتويج على اللقب الأوروبي الذي حققنه في آخر نسخة في 2022، كما أخذن بالثأر من سيدات إسبانيا اللاتي حققن كأس العالم للسيدات 2023 بعد الفوز في النهائي على سيدات إنجلترا.
يُذكر أن المنتخب الإنجليزي يحتل التصنيف الرابع في ترتيب منتخبات السيدات ضمن تصنيف الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، وتملك سيدات إنجلترا سجلاً مميزاً في تاريخ كرة القدم النسائية، إذ سبق لهن تحقيق كأس أمم أوروبا في مناسبتين، وحققن وصافة كأس العالم للسيدات 2023، والمركز الثالث في 2015، والمركز الرابع في 2019.
