أعلن الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم، أن كل كرت وله دور، وكل اسم يحمل حلم وطن تم اختياره من قبل مدرب المنتخب جولين لوبيتيغي في القائمة النهائية لرجال العنابي في المهمة العالمية. وأضاف، فريق واحد وروح واحدة، ومن سانتا باربارا، تبدأ استعداداتنا، وجاهزون لكأس العالم. وكان سفير دولة قطر لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية مشعل بن حمد آل ثاني، قد استقبل بعثة منتخب قطر الوطني لدى وصولها إلى الولايات المتحدة، استعداداً للمشاركة في نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، إذ سيلعب المنتخب القطري في مجموعته التي تضم منتخبات كندا وسويسرا والبوسنة والهرسك. وقد ضمت القائمة النهائية لمنتخب قطر في كأس العالم 2026، في حراسة المرمى صلاح زكريا ومشعل برشم ومحمود أبوندى، وفي خط الدفاع، خوخي بوعلام وبيدرو ميغيل، وسلطان البريك، وأيوب العلوي، والهاشمي الحسين، وعيسى لاي، وهمام الأمين، ولوكاس منديس، وفي الوسط أحمد فتحي، وأحمد الجانحي، وحسن الهيدوس، ومحمد مناعي، وكريم بوضياف وتحسين محمد، وعاصم مادبو، وجاسم جابر وعبدالعزيز حاتم، وفي الهجوم أكرم عفيف، والمعز علي، ومحمد مونتاري، ويوسف عبدالرزاق، وأحمد علاء.
