أوضح رئيس نادي الوحدة حاتم خيمي لـ«عكاظ» أن إدارته تواجه كارثة كبيرة في تضخم رواتب اللاعبين المحليين وعقودهم الاحترافية، فهناك العديد من العناصر المحلية تحصل على رواتب تصل إلى ١٥٠ ألف ريال، وآخرون يحصلون على ٨٠ و٧٠ و٦٠ ألفاً، وهذه مبالغ طائلة في دوري يلو، ومستوى اللاعبين الفني منخفض جداً.
وقال خيمي: «منذ أسبوع في اجتماعات متواصلة مع بعض اللاعبين من أجل فك الارتباط معهم من أجل تسجيل لاعبين محليين ذوي جودة فنية عالية، وبمبالغ منصفة للطرفين، ولكن مع الأسف لم أتوصل إلى نتيجة إلا مع اللاعب حسين العيسى، وتم فك الارتباط معه، وهناك أكثر من 5 لاعبين حتى الآن لم نستطع فك الارتباط معهم، وعقودهم لا توجد فيها ثغرات تجيز لإدارة النادي فك الارتباط معهم عند تدني مستوى اللاعب، بل تمتد عقودهم إلى موسمين وأكثر، ويصرون على دفع مبلغ العقد كاملاً، وهذا يكلف النادي الملايين».
وأشار خيمي إلى أنه في حال حصلت هذه المعضلة سيكون هناك تصحيح للمسار الفني للفريق الوحداوي بالكامل، ليستطيع الانتصار على الخصوم، والمنافسة على الصعود؛ لأن هناك عناصر محلية، وأخرى أجنبية ستقلب الموازين.
واختتم الرئيس الوحداوي تصريحه بقوله: «الانتصارات التي حققها الفريق الكروي منذ تسلمي زمام الأمور جاءت بعاملين: رفع الحالة المعنوية، ومنح مكافأة مالية بعد كل انتصار. وسنواصل هذا النهج حتى نهاية الموسم الحالي».

Unfortunately, I have only reached an agreement with player Hussein Al-Eissa, and we have severed ties with him. There are more than 5 players with whom we have not been able to sever ties yet, and their contracts do not contain loopholes that allow the club's management to terminate them when the player's level declines; rather, their contracts extend for two seasons or more, and they insist on receiving the full contract amount, which costs the club millions."
Khaymi pointed out that if this dilemma continues, there will be a complete correction of the technical path for the Al-Wahda team, so it can win against opponents and compete for promotion; because there are local players and others foreign who will change the balance.
The Al-Wahda president concluded his statement by saying: "The victories achieved by the football team since I took over the reins came from two factors: boosting morale and providing a financial reward after each victory. We will continue this approach until the end of the current season."
