In a rare media appearance characterized by honesty and boldness, international goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi, player of Al-Nassr Club and the Saudi national team, confirmed many of the questions and demands that circulated among Al-Nassr fans during the past season, emphasizing what resembles a state of ambiguity and chaos in the club's management. This came during his interview with media personality Turki Al-Ajma in the program (Koura), where Al-Aqidi spoke with a tone that carried much sadness and disappointment,
and said: “The situation at Al-Nassr is not pleasing to anyone; the divisions cause significant problems in the club and greatly hinder work.” He added that the team's atmosphere does not help in achieving success, pointing out that some individuals within the system “make the locker room unhealthy,” in a clear reference to the absence of harmony and trust within the Al-Nassr family.
In discussing the management's treatment of the players, Al-Aqidi revealed that the sports director Guido Vinga promised him he would send him to Italy to benefit from the suspension period, “but in the end, he completely ignored me and did not implement anything,” considering that this incident reflects poor management of resources and promises within the team.
Al-Aqidi also expressed his astonishment at the weak internal communication, saying: “I am an Al-Nassr player, and yet I do not know who is the decision-maker in the club. At Al-Nassr, you don’t know who is responsible for the decisions.”
He concluded his remarks with a painful message full of transparency, saying: “I swear to God, we as players want to succeed, but there are many obstacles. At Al-Nassr, you don’t know where to find the right answer,” expressing a clear indication of the declining role of the administrative and leadership system in supporting the players and achieving the required harmony.
Al-Aqidi's statements received wide interaction on social media and served as a true endorsement of the demands of Al-Nassr fans, who have long questioned the reasons behind the administrative confusion and the ambiguity of the scene within the club, despite the scale of investments and the stars present.
This testimony from one of the club's own members, and a cornerstone of its future, puts the Al-Nassr management – specifically the profit-making company responsible for the team – before a real test to reorganize and clarify the decision-making structure, in order to restore the trust of a fanbase that is not satisfied with anything less than the top.
