تسببت إصابة حمامة في إيقاف مباراة أتلتيكو مدريد وريال سوسيداد ضمن الجولة الـ27 من الدوري الإسباني، ما دفع لاعب أتلتيكو مدريد خوسيه ماريا خيمينيز إلى إبعاد الطائر المصاب من الملعب.
وأُصيب الطائر بالكرة ما جعل خمينيز يحمله إلى خارج الملعب، وقال خيمينيز بعد المباراة: «سألت الحكم عما حدث، فأخبرني أن السبب هو الحمامة، فقلت: حقاً؟ أوقفت المباراة بسبب الحمامة؟».
يذكر أن المباراة انتهت بفوز أتلتيكو مدريد على ريال سوسيداد بنتيجة (3-2)، ليواصل بذلك فريق المدرب دييغو سيميوني تواجده في المركز الثالث في سلم الترتيب برصيد (54 نقطة) خلف المتصدر برشلونة (67 نقطة) ووصيفه ريال مدريد (63 نقطة).
