نفى رئيس الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم (كاف) باتريس موتسيبي الأنباء التي تداولتها بعض وسائل الإعلام حول تأجيل بطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2027، المقرر إقامتها في كينيا وأوغندا وتنزانيا.
وكان موتسيبي قد صرح في يناير الماضي أن بطولة أمم أفريقيا 2027 ستقام في الصيف بدلاً من الشتاء، لمنح الدول المستضيفة فرصة إضافية لضخ المزيد من الموارد المالية، وتنظيم بطولة تليق بمكانة كرة القدم الأفريقية.

ونشرت صحيفة «الغارديان» البريطانية تقريراً خلال الساعات الماضية تشير فيه إلى احتمال تأجيل البطولة إلى عام 2028، بسبب ما وصفته بعدم جاهزية ملاعب منتخبات كينيا وأوغندا وتنزانيا.
تأكيد «كاف» على موعد البطولة
لكن رئيس «كاف» أكد في مؤتمر صحفي، اليوم (الجمعة)، أن بطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2027 ستقام في موعدها دون تغيير، وكذلك نسخة 2028.
وأضاف موتسيبي: «أود أن أؤكد مجدداً أن التقارير الصحفية غالباً ما تُشير إلى أن الملاعب غير جاهزة، أو أن العشب غير مُهيأ، أو أنها ليست في حالة جيدة بما فيه الكفاية، لكننا سنحل هذه المشكلة. يجب أن نؤمن بقدرتنا على تنظيم البطولة القارية».
يُذكر أن منتخب السنغال تُوِّج بلقب كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2025 الشهر الماضي، بعد تغلبه على نظيره المغربي بهدف نظيف في المباراة النهائية.
The President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, denied the news circulated by some media outlets regarding the postponement of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, which is scheduled to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Motsepe had stated last January that the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 would take place in the summer instead of the winter, to give the host countries an additional opportunity to inject more financial resources and organize a tournament that befits the status of African football.
Media Rumors
The British newspaper "The Guardian" published a report in the past hours suggesting the possibility of postponing the tournament to 2028, due to what it described as the unpreparedness of the stadiums in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
CAF's Confirmation of the Tournament Date
However, the CAF President confirmed in a press conference today (Friday) that the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will take place as scheduled, without any changes, as will the 2028 edition.
Motsepe added: "I would like to reaffirm that media reports often indicate that the stadiums are not ready, or that the grass is not prepared, or that they are not in good enough condition, but we will solve this problem. We must believe in our ability to organize the continental tournament."
It is worth mentioning that the Senegal national team was crowned the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 champion last month, after defeating their Moroccan counterpart with a single goal in the final match.
