أنهى أرسنال الشوط الأول متقدماً بهدفين، سجلهما يورين تيمبر وبوكايو ساكا في الدقيقتين 34 و45+1.
واصل فريق المدرب ميكيل أرتيتا ضغطه الهجومي في الشوط الثاني، وسجّل الوافد الجديد فيكتور غيوكيريس أول أهدافه مع الجانرز في الدقيقة 48، قبل أن يعود تيمبر ويضيف الهدف الرابع لأصحاب الأرض بعد 8 دقائق فقط.
واختتم غيوكيريس حفلة أهداف أرسنال بتسجيله الخامس والثاني له شخصياً في الدقيقة 90+5 من ركلة جزاء، ليؤكد أحقيته بثقة مدربه.
ورفع أرسنال رصيده إلى 6 نقاط في صدارة جدول ترتيب الدوري الإنجليزي مؤقتاً، متفوقاً بفارق الأهداف على توتنهام الذي تراجع إلى المركز الثاني، بينما تجمد رصيد ليدز عند 3 نقاط في المركز الـ11.
