في تطور لافت ضمن القضية التي تلاحق الطاقم الطبي المسؤول عن رعاية أسطورة كرة القدم دييغو مارادونا قبل وفاته، أعلنت القاضية الأرجنتينية خوليتا ماكينتاش تنحيها عن هيئة المحكمة التي تنظر في الملف، وذلك على خلفية اتهامات تتعلق بخرق القواعد الأخلاقية المعمول بها داخل السلطة القضائية.
جاء القرار بعد تداول مقطع مصور مؤخراً يظهر ماكينتاش أثناء مشاركتها في مقابلة مع طاقم فيلم وثائقي داخل أروقة محكمة بوينس آيرس، بما في ذلك مكتبها، في مخالفة صريحة للوائح القضائية التي تمنع القضاة من الانخراط في مثل هذه الأنشطة خلال فترة نظر القضايا.
وكانت المحاكمة قد انطلقت في 11 مارس الماضي، وسط اهتمام شعبي واسع في الأرجنتين، حيث لا يزال اسم مارادونا محفوراً في الذاكرة الوطنية كبطل مونديال 1986 وأحد أعظم من لمس الكرة في التاريخ.
يواجه سبعة من أعضاء الفريق الطبي اتهامات بالقتل غير العمد، وسط مزاعم عن إهمال جسيم في التعامل مع حالة مارادونا الصحية. وينفي المتهمون هذه الاتهامات التي قد تصل عقوبتها، في حال ثبوتها، إلى السجن لفترة تتراوح بين ثماني سنوات و25 عاماً.
وصف محاميا ابنتي مارادونا، دالما وجيانينا، المحاكمة بأنها تمر بأزمة حقيقية، وقال فرناندو بورلاندو للصحافيين: «ما حدث يمثل كارثة على مستوى القضاء».
وأشار ممثلو الادعاء إلى أن الرعاية التي تلقاها مارادونا كانت «غير مسؤولة، ناقصة، وغير مسبوقة»، فيما لا يزال من غير الواضح متى ستُستأنف الجلسات، مع ترجيحات بأن يُعيّن قاضٍ بديل لاستكمال المحاكمة إلى جانب القاضيين المتبقيين.
توفي مارادونا في نوفمبر 2020 عن عمر 60 عاماً، نتيجة فشل في القلب أثناء فترة تعافيه من جراحة دقيقة في الدماغ، بعد صراع طويل مع مشكلات صحية وإدمان.
وأثارت وفاته موجة من الحزن العارم في البلاد، ترافق معها جدل واسع بشأن الجهة المسؤولة عن تدهور حالته في أيامه الأخيرة.
يُشار إلى أن أحد أعضاء الفريق الطبي، وهو الطبيب النفسي الخاص بمارادونا، قد أدلى بشهادته أمام المحكمة، إلى جانب عشرات الشهود من عائلته وأصدقائه وطواقم طبية وصحافية، ومن المتوقع أن تتجاوز قائمة الشهود 190 شخصاً.
في سياق موازٍ، من المنتظر أن يمثل متهم ثامن في القضية أمام هيئة محلفين خلال شهر يوليو القادم، في محاكمة منفصلة.

Lawyers for Maradona's daughters, Dalma and Gianinna, described the trial as going through a real crisis, with Fernando Burlando telling reporters: "What has happened represents a disaster at the level of justice."
Prosecutors indicated that the care Maradona received was "irresponsible, inadequate, and unprecedented," while it remains unclear when the sessions will resume, with expectations that a replacement judge will be appointed to continue the trial alongside the remaining judges.
Maradona passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60 due to heart failure while recovering from a delicate brain surgery, after a long struggle with health issues and addiction.
