Sudanese sources announced that the Rapid Support Forces bombed the home of the Blue Nile region governor in Damazin, Ahmed Badi.
The website "Ultra Sudan" published on its Facebook page today (Saturday) photos documenting the destruction of the Blue Nile governor's house after an attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces using drones, while Sudanese sources confirmed that the governor of the Blue Nile region was not injured as a result of the targeting of his home in Damazin.
The "Sudan Tribune" website indicated that the city of Damazin, the capital of the Blue Nile region, was attacked by the Rapid Support Forces using drones for the third time in about two weeks. The site quoted eyewitnesses as saying that several violent explosions echoed in the city before the ground defenses confronted the suicide drones, and the witnesses confirmed that the drones attempted to target several areas in the city of Damazin, but the nature of the targets was not clear, while the army or the regional government did not issue any comment on the drone attack.
The city of Damazin was subjected to drone attacks on September 13 and 14, targeting fuel stations and military sites, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Sudan has been witnessing a war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since April 2023, resulting in the deaths of at least 59,000 people and displacing about 13 million others, pushing many parts of Sudan into famine. More than 30 million people in Sudan need humanitarian assistance.
