أحبطت السلطات المغربية، اليوم (السبت)، محاولة عدد كبير من المهاجرين، معظمهم من دول أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء، للوصول بشكل غير نظامي إلى مدينة سبتة، الخاضعة للإدارة الإسبانية.
وأعلن التلفزيون الرسمي المغربي أن السلطات منعت نحو 300 مهاجر غير نظامي، تجمعوا في المناطق الجبلية، من الاقتراب أو التسلل إلى سبتة، بدون تسجيل أي مواجهات عنيفة أو خسائر مادية.
وأفاد بأن السلطات حشدت موارد بشرية ومعدات متطورة لمنع أي تسلل لمهاجرين غير نظاميين إلى جيب سبتة، مشيراً إلى أن قوات الأمن تستخدم طائرات مسيّرة للرصد وآليات محمولة للتدخل وشاحنات لضخ المياه لتجنب الاحتكاك المباشر مع المهاجرين غير النظاميين.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء الإسبانية «إفي» عن مصادر أمنية قولها إن مجموعة من المهاجرين كانت تختبئ في منطقة جبلية قرب مدينة الفنيدق المحاذية للمعبر الحدودي مع سبتة.
وذكرت الوكالة أنه تم نشر آلاف من عناصر الأمن المغربي لمنع مزيد من محاولات الدخول الجماعي إلى سبتة، عقب دعوات انتشرت على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي قبيل 15 أغسطس. ولا يزال المهاجرون الذين لم يتم توقيفهم موجودين في المنطقة، بحسب المصادر.
وجاء تشديد الإجراءات الأمنية بعد أزمة يومي 30 و31 يوليو، عندما عبر نحو 80 ألف مهاجر الحدود، ما أسفر عن سقوط 82 شخصاً، وفق بيانات معهد الطب الشرعي في سبتة، الذي أجرى عمليات تشريح جثامين الضحايا.
وبحسب تقديرات منظمات إنسانية، بينها منظمة «كاميناندو فرونتيراس»، فقد بلغ عدد الضحايا على جانبي الحدود 141 شخصاً على الأقل.
وذكرت صحيفة «إل باييس» الإسبانية أن الوضع في سبتة هادئ في الوقت الراهن، ويرجع ذلك جزئياً إلى الانتشار الأمني المكثف على طول الحدود. وجرى تعزيز الإجراءات الأمنية على جانبي الحدود الإسبانية والمغربية، عقب حالة التأهب التي أُثيرت خلال الأيام الأخيرة.
The Moroccan authorities thwarted, today (Saturday), an attempt by a large number of migrants, most of whom are from sub-Saharan African countries, to reach the city of Ceuta, which is under Spanish administration.
The Moroccan state television announced that the authorities prevented about 300 irregular migrants, who had gathered in the mountainous areas, from approaching or sneaking into Ceuta, without recording any violent confrontations or material losses.
It reported that the authorities mobilized human resources and advanced equipment to prevent any infiltration of irregular migrants into the Ceuta enclave, noting that security forces are using drones for surveillance, portable intervention vehicles, and water trucks to avoid direct confrontation with the irregular migrants.
The Spanish news agency "EFE" quoted security sources as saying that a group of migrants was hiding in a mountainous area near the city of Fnideq, adjacent to the border crossing with Ceuta.
The agency mentioned that thousands of Moroccan security personnel have been deployed to prevent further attempts of mass entry into Ceuta, following calls that spread on social media prior to August 15. The migrants who have not been apprehended are still present in the area, according to the sources.
The tightening of security measures came after the crisis on July 30 and 31, when about 80,000 migrants crossed the border, resulting in 82 fatalities, according to data from the forensic institute in Ceuta, which conducted autopsies on the victims' bodies.
According to estimates from humanitarian organizations, including "Caminando Fronteras," the number of victims on both sides of the border reached at least 141 people.
The Spanish newspaper "El País" reported that the situation in Ceuta is calm at the moment, partly due to the heavy security presence along the border. Security measures have been reinforced on both the Spanish and Moroccan sides of the border, following the state of alert that arose in recent days.
