ضرب زلزال بقوة 7.7 درجة على مقياس ريختر سواحل إندونيسيا وفقاً لبيانات المركز الأورومتوسطي لرصد الزلازل.
وقال المركز إن الزلزال سُجل على بُعد 162 كيلومتراً من مدينة لابوان باجو. وكان مركز الزلزال على عمق 35 كيلومتراً.
وأثارت هذه الهزة مخاوف كبيرة بشأن توابعها والآثار المحتملة على المجتمعات المحلية في المنطقة. وأفادت مصادر محلية بتراجع المياه في الشواطئ ما ينذر بحدوث تسونامي.
وأفادت التقارير الأولية بحدوث هزات أرضية قوية في المنطقة.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the coasts of Indonesia according to data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
The centre reported that the earthquake was recorded 162 kilometers from the city of Labuan Bajo. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 35 kilometers.
