أعلنت وزارة الكهرباء والماء الكويتية تعرض محطة كهرباء وتقطير مياه لهجوم إيراني، ما أسفر عن أضرار في مرافق المحطة واندلاع حريق، وتضرر عدد كبير من وحدات توليد الطاقة الكهربائية.
وأشارت في بيان، اليوم (الجمعة)، إلى أن الأضرار استدعت تفعيل خطط الطوارئ والتعامل الفوري مع الحادث للحد من آثاره والحفاظ على استقرار المنظومة الكهربائية.
وأفاد البيان بأن فرق قوة الإطفاء باشرت التعامل الفوري مع الحادث وتمكنت من السيطرة على الحريق وإخماده، فيما باشرت الفرق الفنية وفرق الطوارئ التابعة للوزارة بالتنسيق مع الجهات المعنية تنفيذ الإجراءات الفنية والاحترازية اللازمة لتقييم الأضرار وتأمين المحطة، والعمل على إعادة الوحدات المتأثرة إلى الخدمة بأسرع وقت ممكن مع الالتزام بمعايير السلامة.
وأكدت الوزارة أن الفرق الفنية تواصل العمل على مدار الساعة للحفاظ على استقرار المنظومة الكهربائية وضمان استمرارية الخدمة.
وكانت رئاسة الأركان العامة للجيش الكويتي أعلنت في وقت سابق (الجمعة)، أن الدفاعات الجوية تتصدى لهجمات صاروخية وطائرات مسيّرة معادية، في إطار «العدوان الإيراني الآثم».
وأوضحت أن أصوات الانفجارات، في حال سماعها، ناجمة عن عمليات اعتراض منظومات الدفاع الجوي للهجمات.
ودعت رئاسة الأركان المواطنين والمقيمين إلى الالتزام بتعليمات الأمن والسلامة الصادرة عن الجهات المختصة.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity and Water announced that a power and water desalination plant was subjected to an Iranian attack, resulting in damage to the plant's facilities and the outbreak of a fire, as well as damage to a large number of electricity generation units.
In a statement today (Friday), it indicated that the damages necessitated the activation of emergency plans and immediate response to the incident to mitigate its effects and maintain the stability of the electrical system.
The statement reported that firefighting teams began immediate action to deal with the incident and were able to control and extinguish the fire, while technical teams and emergency teams from the ministry coordinated with relevant authorities to implement the necessary technical and precautionary measures to assess the damages, secure the plant, and work on returning the affected units to service as quickly as possible while adhering to safety standards.
The ministry confirmed that the technical teams continue to work around the clock to maintain the stability of the electrical system and ensure service continuity.
Earlier (Friday), the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army announced that air defenses were responding to hostile missile and drone attacks, as part of the "evil Iranian aggression."
It clarified that the sounds of explosions, if heard, are the result of air defense systems intercepting the attacks.
The General Staff urged citizens and residents to adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
