استعاد العراق 19 مليار دينار عراقي (نحو 16.4 مليون دولار أمريكي)، وذلك ضمن التحقيقات الجارية في قضايا فساد، بحسب ما أعلنه مجلس القضاء الأعلى اليوم (الثلاثاء).
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء العراقية «واع» عن مجلس القضاء أن استرداد الأموال جاء ضمن التحقيقات في قضية فساد مالي تتعلق بالتلاعب بكشوفات إيداع مبالغ مالية تخص الخطوط الجوية العراقية.
وقال المتحدث باسم الحكومة حيدر العبودي إن رئيس الوزراء العراقي علي الزيدي، وجه وزارة المالية بإنشاء حساب لإيداع الأموال المستردة من المتورطين بالكسب غير المشروع، مبيناً أن الحكومة تواصل التزاماتها الدستورية لحماية المال العام، وتمكين الدولة من أداء واجباتها، وتعتمد رؤية شاملة في إدارة التحديات والإصلاح المؤسسي ومكافحة الفساد.
وأضاف أنه لا يمكن ربط مكافحة الفساد بزيارة رئيس الوزراء إلى واشنطن المقررة في منتصف يوليو القادم، مشيراً إلى أن الحكومة أبلغت الفصائل المسلحة بأن آخر موعد لحصر السلاح بيد الدولة سيكون في 21 سبتمبر القادم.
وقال وزير الخارجية العراقي فؤاد حسين، خلال مؤتمر صحافي مشترك مع الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، جاسم البديوي، اليوم، إن الحكومة العراقية تواصل حملتها لمكافحة الفساد.
وأوضح قاضي تحقيق محكمة جنايات مكافحة الفساد المركزية أن التحقيقات الأولية مع المتهم الموقوف وكيل وزير النفط لشؤون التوزيع علي معارج، أسفرت عن ضبط مبالغ مالية بلغت 11 مليون دولار، و4 مليارات دينار عراقي (3 ملايين و54 ألف دولار)، فضلاً عن امتلاكه عدداً من العقارات.
Iraq has recovered 19 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately 16.4 million US dollars) as part of ongoing investigations into corruption cases, according to an announcement by the Supreme Judicial Council today (Tuesday).
The Iraqi News Agency "INA" reported that the recovery of funds came as part of investigations into a financial corruption case related to the manipulation of deposit records of funds belonging to Iraqi Airways.
Government spokesman Haidar Al-Abboudi stated that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi directed the Ministry of Finance to create an account for depositing the funds recovered from those involved in illicit gains, indicating that the government continues its constitutional commitments to protect public funds and enable the state to fulfill its duties, relying on a comprehensive vision to manage challenges, institutional reform, and combat corruption.
He added that it is not possible to link the fight against corruption to the Prime Minister's scheduled visit to Washington in mid-July, noting that the government has informed armed factions that the deadline for consolidating weapons in the hands of the state will be on September 21.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, during a joint press conference with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, today, stated that the Iraqi government continues its campaign to combat corruption.
The investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court explained that preliminary investigations with the detained accused, the Deputy Minister of Oil for Distribution Affairs, Ali Ma'arij, resulted in the seizure of financial amounts totaling 11 million dollars and 4 billion Iraqi dinars (3 million and 54 thousand dollars), in addition to his ownership of several properties.
