شدد قائد الجيش اللبناني العماد رودولف هيكل، على أن الجيش سيبقى «السد المنيع» في وجه محاولات زعزعة الاستقرار الداخلي، محذرا من أن استهدافه لا يخدم إلا أعداء لبنان. وأكد أن المؤسسة العسكرية تواصل أداء مهماتها في مواجهة تداعيات العدوان الإسرائيلي.
وشدد هيكل على أن الحملات التي تستهدف المؤسسة العسكرية، سواء عبر الاتهامات أو الشائعات الطائفية والمناطقية، لن تثنيها عن أداء واجبها، معتبرا أن هذه المحاولات تخدم أعداء لبنان.
وقال قائد الجيش، في كلمة ألقاها، اليوم (الجمعة)، بمناسبة ذكرى «المقاومة والتحرير»، إن هذه المناسبة تشكل محطة وطنية مضيئة في تاريخ لبنان، وتجسد تمسك اللبنانيين بأرضهم وسيادتهم وكرامتهم الوطنية في مواجهة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي.
وأوضح قائد الجيش أن لبنان لا يزال يواجه تداعيات العدوان الإسرائيلي المستمر، والذي أسفر عن دمار واسع وسقوط آلاف الشهداء والجرحى، لا سيما في المناطق الجنوبية، بالتزامن مع استمرار احتلال أراضٍ لبنانية.
ولفت إلى أن الجيش يبذل أقصى طاقاته في ظل ظروف معقدة وأخطار متصاعدة، بهدف الحد من آثار العدوان، ودعم المواطنين، خصوصا النازحين ومن بقوا في مناطقهم، بالتوازي مع تنفيذ مهماته الأمنية، بما في ذلك مكافحة الإرهاب والجريمة المنظمة.
ودعا هيكل العسكريين إلى التمسك برسالتهم والحفاظ على جاهزيتهم ومعنوياتهم، مؤكدا أن السلم الأهلي والوحدة الوطنية يمثلان الركيزة الأساسية لحماية لبنان، وأن ثبات الجيش وعزيمته يشكلان ضمانة للاستقرار.
وأعرب قائد الجيش عن أمله في استعادة كامل الأراضي اللبنانية، مشيدا بصمود اللبنانيين وإرادتهم، ومؤكدا أن ثبات الجيش هو الضامن لبقاء الأمل بحاضر أكثر استقرارا ومستقبل أكثر ازدهارا للبلاد.
وتأتي كلمة قائد الجيش في وقت تتواصل فيه الهجمات الإسرائيلية على جنوب لبنان، حيث أعلن الدفاع المدني فجر الجمعة، مقتل 4 أشخاص جراء غارة استهدفت مركزا للإسعاف في بلدة حانوية، بالتزامن مع سلسلة غارات طالت بلدات عدة في المنطقة.
وتندرج هذه التطورات ضمن تصعيد مستمر رغم سريان وقف إطلاق النار بين إسرائيل وحزب الله منذ 17 أبريل/نيسان الماضي، والذي تم تمديده مرات عدة، وسط استمرار الخروق الميدانية.
وبحسب حصيلة ميدانية، أسفرت هذه الاعتداءات منذ الثاني من مارس الماضي وحتى ظهر الخميس عن سقوط 3089 قتيلا و9397 جريحا.
The Commander of the Lebanese Army, General Rudolf Haikal, emphasized that the army will remain "the stronghold" against attempts to destabilize internal stability, warning that targeting it only serves Lebanon's enemies. He affirmed that the military institution continues to carry out its duties in facing the repercussions of the Israeli aggression.
Haikal stressed that the campaigns targeting the military institution, whether through accusations or sectarian and regional rumors, will not deter it from fulfilling its duty, considering that these attempts serve Lebanon's enemies.
The army commander, in a speech delivered today (Friday) on the occasion of the "Resistance and Liberation" anniversary, stated that this occasion represents a bright national milestone in Lebanon's history, embodying the Lebanese people's attachment to their land, sovereignty, and national dignity in the face of Israeli occupation.
The army commander clarified that Lebanon continues to face the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli aggression, which has resulted in widespread destruction and the loss of thousands of martyrs and wounded, particularly in the southern regions, alongside the continued occupation of Lebanese territories.
He pointed out that the army is exerting its utmost efforts under complex conditions and escalating dangers, aiming to mitigate the effects of the aggression and support citizens, especially the displaced and those who remain in their areas, while simultaneously carrying out its security missions, including combating terrorism and organized crime.
Haikal urged military personnel to adhere to their mission and maintain their readiness and morale, affirming that civil peace and national unity represent the fundamental pillars for protecting Lebanon, and that the army's steadfastness and determination are guarantees for stability.
The army commander expressed hope for the restoration of all Lebanese territories, praising the resilience and will of the Lebanese people, and confirming that the army's steadfastness is the guarantee for maintaining hope for a more stable present and a more prosperous future for the country.
The army commander's speech comes at a time when Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon continue, where the Civil Defense announced early Friday that 4 people were killed due to an airstrike targeting a rescue center in the town of Hanawiya, coinciding with a series of airstrikes that hit several towns in the region.
These developments are part of a continuous escalation despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that has been in effect since April 17, which has been extended several times amid ongoing field violations.
According to field reports, these assaults since March 2 until Thursday afternoon have resulted in 3,089 deaths and 9,397 injuries.
