حذرت صحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال»، من أن سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي أعدت قائمة اغتيال واعتقال لآلاف الفلسطينيين في غزة بزعم مشاركتهم في أحداث السابع من أكتوبر 2023.
وأكدت الصحيفة استهداف المئات من هؤلاء الفلسطينيين عبر توظيف تقنيات متطورة مثل المراقبة وبرامج التعرف على الوجوه، في خطوة تدفعها الرغبة في الانتقام، ولفتت إلى أن حملة الاعتقالات مرشحة للاستمرار حتى بعد التوصل إلى وقف إطلاق النار في أكتوبر الماضي.
وبرر مسؤولون إسرائيليون حملات التصفية تلك على أنها تهدف إلى ردع الفلسطينيين عن الانضمام إلى العمل المسلح، في حين حذر خبراء من أن هذا الأمر سيؤدي إلى نتائج عكسية، في ظل غياب مسار سياسي لحل القضية الفلسطينية.
وانتقدت صحيفة «هآرتس» في افتتاحيتها مقطع فيديو نشره وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي إيتمار بن غفير، يوثق خلاله تنكيله بمتضامنين ونشطاء من أسطول الصمود العالمي أثناء احتجازهم في أسدود.
وظهر بن غفير في المقطع وهو يشرف على اعتقال ناشطي الأسطول، حيث بدا المحتجزون مكبلين ومعصوبي الأعين على الأرض، والوزير الإسرائيلي يوجّه إليهم إهانات لفظية ويصفهم بـ«داعمي الإرهاب».
وأكدت الصحيفة الإسرائيلية أن فظاظة بن غفير ربما تتفوق على غيره من المسؤولين، لكن سلوكه في إذلال مئات النشطاء المحتجزين من أسطول غزة الأخير يتماشى تماما مع المعايير المتبعة في إسرائيل حاليا.
وخلصت إلى أن ما تعرض له هؤلاء النشطاء -والقادمون من دول صديقة- من ظلم وإذلال متعمد أمام عدسات الكاميرات وبحضور وزراء إسرائيليين؛ يمثل عارا لا يمكن إخفاؤه.
The "Wall Street Journal" warned that the Israeli occupation authorities have prepared a list for the assassination and arrest of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza, claiming their involvement in the events of October 7, 2023.
The newspaper confirmed that hundreds of these Palestinians are being targeted using advanced technologies such as surveillance and facial recognition software, in a move driven by a desire for revenge. It noted that the campaign of arrests is likely to continue even after a ceasefire was reached last October.
Israeli officials justified these elimination campaigns as aimed at deterring Palestinians from joining armed action, while experts warned that this would lead to counterproductive results, in light of the absence of a political path to resolve the Palestinian issue.
The "Haaretz" newspaper criticized in its editorial a video published by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, in which he documented his mistreatment of activists and supporters from the Global Solidarity Fleet while they were detained in Ashdod.
Ben Gvir appeared in the video overseeing the arrest of the fleet's activists, where the detainees seemed to be bound and blindfolded on the ground, while the Israeli minister directed verbal insults at them, calling them "supporters of terrorism."
The Israeli newspaper confirmed that Ben Gvir's rudeness may surpass that of other officials, but his behavior in humiliating hundreds of detained activists from the recent Gaza flotilla aligns perfectly with the standards currently practiced in Israel.
It concluded that what these activists—coming from friendly countries—were subjected to in terms of deliberate injustice and humiliation in front of cameras and in the presence of Israeli ministers represents a shame that cannot be hidden.
