انطلقت الجولة الثانية من المفاوضات النووية بين إيران وأمريكا، وبحسب وكالة الأنباء الإيرانية الرسمية «إرنا» فإن المفاوضات بدأت عند الساعة العاشرة صباح اليوم (الخميس) بالتوقيت المحلي، في أحد المباني التابعة لسفارة سلطنة عُمان في مدينة جنيف السويسرية التي تتوسط بين الجانبين.
والتقى وزير الخارجية العماني بدر البوسعيدي، المبعوثين الأمريكيين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر، في إطار المفاوضات الإيرانية الأمريكية الجارية حالياً، وفقاً لما ذكره بيان للخارجية العمانية.
مقترحات إيران
وأوضحت الخارجية العمانية أن «اللقاء تناول استعراض مرئيات ومقترحات الجانب الإيراني وردود واستفسارات الفريق التفاوضي الأمريكي المتصلة بمعالجة العناصر الرئيسية لبرنامج إيران النووي، والضمانات اللازمة لتحقيق الاتفاق المنشود لهذا الملف المهم من كافة جوانبه الفنية والرقابية».
وأكد وزير الخارجية العماني أن «المساعي مستمرة بصورة حثيثة وبروح بناءة في ظل انفتاح المتفاوضين لأفكار وحلول جديدة وخلاقة بصورة غير مسبوقة، وتهيئة الظروف الداعمة للتقدم والتوصل إلى اتفاق عادل بضمانات قابلة للاستدامة».
من جهته، قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي للتلفزيون الرسمي الإيراني، اليوم، إن المفاوضات، كما في الجولات السابقة، ستركز حصرياً على القضية النووية.
وأضاف بقائي أن المدير العام للوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية رفائيل جروسي قد يحضر أيضاً، على غرار ما جرى في المفاوضات السابقة، مشيراً إلى أن موقف بلاده واضح والمتمثل في رفع العقوبات والاستخدام السلمي للطاقة النووية.
صلاحيات عراقجي
من جهته، قال الأمين العام لمجلس الدفاع الإيراني علي شمخاني، اليوم، إنه "من الممكن التوصل إلى اتفاق فوري" في جنيف، موضحاً أن وزير الخارجية عباس عراقجي يحظى بدعم وصلاحية كافيين لهذا الاتفاق.
وكان عراقجي قد كتب منشور على حسابه في"إكس": إذا كانت القضية في المفاوضات هي عدم صناعة إيران أسلحة نووية فإن هذا الأمر يتماشى مع فتوى المرشد (علي خامنئي) ويتماشى مع عقيدة إيران الدفاعية.
«جيرالد فورد» تغادر اليونان
على واقع المفاوضات، يستمر التصعيد الأمريكي، إذ غادرت حاملة الطائرات الأمريكية «جيرالد فورد»، الأكبر في العالم، قاعدة بحرية أمريكية في جنوب اليونان، اليوم، بعد توقف قصير استمر بضعة أيام، في طريقها إلى الشرق الأوسط التي تحشد فيه الولايات المتحدة عدداً كبيراً من السفن الحربية والطائرات مع تصاعد التوتر مع إيران.
وأفادت وسائل إعلام غربية أن قاطرات بحرية سحبت حاملة الطائرات من قاعدة في جزيرة كريت إلى البحر.
The second round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States has begun. According to the official Iranian news agency "IRNA," the negotiations started at 10 AM local time today (Thursday) in one of the buildings belonging to the Sultanate of Oman’s embassy in Geneva, Switzerland, which serves as a mediator between the two sides.
The Omani Foreign Minister, Badr al-Busaidi, met with the American envoys, Steve Wieting and Jared Kushner, as part of the ongoing Iranian-American negotiations, according to a statement from the Omani Foreign Ministry.
Iran's Proposals
The Omani Foreign Ministry clarified that "the meeting addressed the review of the Iranian side's views and proposals, as well as the responses and inquiries from the American negotiating team related to addressing the key elements of Iran's nuclear program and the necessary guarantees to achieve the desired agreement on this important issue from all its technical and regulatory aspects."
The Omani Foreign Minister emphasized that "efforts are ongoing diligently and in a constructive spirit, with negotiators open to new and creative ideas in an unprecedented manner, and creating supportive conditions for progress and reaching a fair agreement with sustainable guarantees."
For his part, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, told Iranian state television today that the negotiations, as in previous rounds, will focus exclusively on the nuclear issue.
Baqaei added that the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, may also attend, similar to what happened in previous negotiations, noting that his country's position is clear, which is the lifting of sanctions and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Iraqi's Authorities
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Iranian Defense Council, Ali Shamkhani, stated today that "it is possible to reach an immediate agreement" in Geneva, explaining that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sufficient support and authority for this agreement.
Araghchi had posted on his account on "X": If the issue in the negotiations is Iran not making nuclear weapons, then this aligns with the fatwa of the Supreme Leader (Ali Khamenei) and is consistent with Iran's defensive doctrine.
"Gerald Ford" Leaves Greece
Amid the negotiations, American escalation continues, as the American aircraft carrier "Gerald Ford," the largest in the world, left a U.S. naval base in southern Greece today after a brief stop of a few days, on its way to the Middle East, where the United States is mobilizing a large number of warships and aircraft amid rising tensions with Iran.
Western media reported that tugboats pulled the aircraft carrier from a base on the island of Crete to the sea.
