وسط تصاعد التوتر بين واشنطن وطهران، أرسلت الولايات المتحدة أكثر من 300 مقاتلة وطائرة عسكرية إلى قواعد القيادة المركزية «سنتكوم» في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
وبحسب معطيات الطيران مفتوحة المصدر، الصادرة اليوم (الأربعاء)، ينتشر في المنطقة أكثر من 300 طائرة عسكرية ومقاتلة أمريكية، موزعة بشكل رئيسي بين عدة قواعد في المنطقة.
وإلى جانب ذلك، يتواجد في المنطقة جناحان جويان على حاملتي الطائرات «يو إس إس أبراهام لينكولن»، و«يو إس إس جيرالد آر. فورد».
وتضم الترسانة الأمريكية في المنطقة طيفا واسعا من الطائرات، إذ تشكل نحو 84 مقاتلة «إف-18 إي/إف»، و36 «إف-15 إي»، و48 «إف-16 سي/سي جي/سي إم»، و42 «إف-35 إيه/سي»، بنحو 70% من إجمالي الطائرات.
أما النسبة المتبقية البالغة 30% فتشمل 18 طائرة حرب إلكترونية «إي إيه-18 جي غراولر»، و12 طائرة دعم جوي قريب «إيه-10 سي ثاندربولت»، و5 طائرات «إي-11 إيه» للاتصالات الجوية في ساحة المعركة، و6 طائرات إنذار مبكر وتحكم جوي «إي-3 سنتري (أواكس)»، إضافة إلى طائرات التزويد بالوقود والمهام الخاصة.
ومنذ أسابيع تقوم الولايات المتحدة بتعزيز قواتها العسكرية في الشرق الأوسط، وتلوح بتنفيذ عمل عسكري ضد إيران لإجبارها على التخلي عن برنامجيها النووي والصاروخي وعن «وكلائها بالمنطقة».
وكانت صحيفة «فاينانشال تايمز»، كشفت أن الولايات المتحدة حشدت في الشرق الأوسط 16 قطعة حربية وما يصل إلى 40 ألف عسكري، إضافة إلى مئات الطائرات.
وأشارت إلى أنه كانت لدى الولايات المتحدة نحو 5 أجنحة من الطيران الحربي في المنطقة، يضم كل واحد منها نحو 70 طائرة في القواعد المنتشرة في المنطقة.
وأفادت بأن القوات الأمريكية أضافت جناحين لتلك القوات، وهما على متن حاملتي الطائرات «أبراهام لينكولن»، و«جيرالد فورد».
Amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, the United States has sent more than 300 fighter jets and military aircraft to Central Command (CENTCOM) bases in the Middle East.
According to open-source flight data released today (Wednesday), there are over 300 American military and fighter aircraft deployed in the region, primarily distributed among several bases.
In addition, there are two air wings aboard the aircraft carriers "USS Abraham Lincoln" and "USS Gerald R. Ford" in the region.
The American arsenal in the region includes a wide range of aircraft, with approximately 84 "F-18E/F" fighters, 36 "F-15E," 48 "F-16C/CG/CM," and 42 "F-35A/C," making up about 70% of the total aircraft.
The remaining 30% includes 18 electronic warfare aircraft "EA-18G Growler," 12 close air support aircraft "A-10C Thunderbolt," 5 "E-11A" aircraft for airborne communications on the battlefield, and 6 early warning and control aircraft "E-3 Sentry (AWACS)," in addition to refueling and special mission aircraft.
For weeks, the United States has been reinforcing its military presence in the Middle East, threatening military action against Iran to compel it to abandon its nuclear and missile programs and its "regional proxies."
The "Financial Times" revealed that the United States has deployed 16 warships and up to 40,000 military personnel in the Middle East, along with hundreds of aircraft.
It noted that the United States had about 5 wings of combat aircraft in the region, each consisting of around 70 aircraft at the bases deployed in the area.
It reported that American forces have added two wings to those forces, which are aboard the aircraft carriers "Abraham Lincoln" and "Gerald Ford."
