مع قرب انطلاق جولة جديدة من المحادثات بين البلدين، أعلن نائب وزير الخارجية الإيراني مجيد تخت روانجي، اليوم (الثلاثاء) إن طهران مستعدة لاتخاذ جميع الإجراءات اللازمة للتوصل إلى اتفاق مع الولايات المتحدة.
وقال الدبلوماسي الإيراني: أي هجوم أمريكي على إيران يُعد مقامرة حقيقية، موضحاً أن طهران مستعدة للتوصل إلى اتفاق مع واشنطن في أسرع وقت ممكن.
مناورات إيرانية
وبدأ الحرس الثوري الإيراني مناورات عسكرية على طول الساحل الجنوبي لإيران وخصوصاً قبالة الخليج، بحسب ما أفاد التلفزيون الرسمي.
ومن المقرر عقد جولة ثالثة من المحادثات (الخميس) في جنيف بوساطة عُمانية، غير أن التوصل إلى اتفاق سيكون مهمة صعبة في ظل عمق الخلافات، بحسب تقرير نشره مركز الأبحاث الأمريكي «إنترناشونال كرايسيس غروب».
خيارات ترمب
في غضون ذلك، قالت كارولاين ليفيت المتحدثة باسم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب للصحفيين في البيت الأبيض اليوم: الخيار الأول لترمب هو دائماً الدبلوماسية لكنه على استعداد لاستخدام القوة الفتاكة إذا لزم الأمر.
ومن المقرر أن يقدم وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو في وقت لاحق اليوم، إفادة لكبار قادة الكونغرس لإطلاعهم على التطورات المتعلقة بإيران.
وبحسب صحيفة «واشنطن بوست» فإن صور الأقمار الاصطناعية وبيانات تتبع الرحلات الجوية أظهرت نقل أكثر من 150 مقاتلة إلى قواعد عسكرية في أوروبا والشرق الأوسط، منذ انتهاء الجولة الثانية من المحادثات النووية في 17 فبراير الجاري.
تعزيزات أمريكية
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أنه تضاف إلى التعزيزات التي رصدتها هناك عشرات المقاتلات على متن حاملة الطائرات «يو إس إس جيرالد فورد»، التي تم رصدها قبالة سواحل جزيرة كريت اليونانية، (الاثنين).
وتعد حاملة الطائرات الأمريكية «فورد»، هي ثاني حاملة طائرات يتم إرسالها إلى الشرق الأوسط، ما يعني أن "ما يقرب من ثلث جميع السفن الحربية الأمريكية النشطة، متواجدة في الشرق الأوسط".
ويرى خبراء عسكريون أمريكيون أن الجيش الأمريكي يستعد لعملية عسكرية تستغرق عدة أيام دون غزو بري.
With the upcoming launch of a new round of talks between the two countries, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi announced today (Tuesday) that Tehran is ready to take all necessary measures to reach an agreement with the United States.
The Iranian diplomat stated: Any American attack on Iran is a real gamble, clarifying that Tehran is prepared to reach an agreement with Washington as soon as possible.
Iranian Maneuvers
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has begun military maneuvers along Iran's southern coast, particularly off the Gulf, according to state television.
A third round of talks is scheduled for Thursday in Geneva, mediated by Oman, but reaching an agreement will be a difficult task given the depth of the disagreements, according to a report published by the American research center "International Crisis Group."
Trump's Options
Meanwhile, Caroline Levitt, spokesperson for U.S. President Donald Trump, told reporters at the White House today: Trump's first option is always diplomacy, but he is prepared to use lethal force if necessary.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to brief senior congressional leaders later today on developments related to Iran.
According to the Washington Post, satellite images and flight tracking data have shown the transfer of more than 150 fighter jets to military bases in Europe and the Middle East since the conclusion of the second round of nuclear talks on February 17.
American Reinforcements
The newspaper noted that in addition to the reinforcements observed, there are dozens of fighter jets aboard the aircraft carrier "USS Gerald Ford," which was spotted off the coast of the Greek island of Crete on Monday.
The American aircraft carrier "Ford" is the second carrier to be sent to the Middle East, meaning that "nearly a third of all active U.S. warships are present in the Middle East."
American military experts believe that the U.S. military is preparing for a military operation that will last several days without a ground invasion.
